Exploitation is nothing new for Dole. They effectively annexed Hawaii and put the Queen in exile
Quite a wake up call for those of us who don't usually think about where our fruits and vegetables come from. I'm ashamed of myself for not being better informed. Although I don't eat bananas that is a pale excuse.
Looking forward to seeing this documentary.
I always knew Dole Foods was bad.
I never buy canned Dole products and now I will not buy their bananas or any of their other products.
OK people, let's boycott their products.
From avoiding the pesticides, you will save your health and the health of your children.
Just another rat in your can of meat from yesteryear. If they can't do it here, they'll try to get away with it over there. Dole will call them liars. Some clown will say consumers are the problem. In the end, the real problem is the company. The real question is who will pay for this mass assault and murder with more than just money! It's time these executives start taking responsibility for the activities of the companies they run instead of hiding behind flawed laws. That's the real issue at hand.
Make a billion dollars murdering a million people in cold blood only to walk away millions richer without so much as a slap on the wrist as if no crime were committed.
That's a problem.
For the best futuristic take on American Society since Orwell , see Woody's movie "Sleeper". Laugh till you cry...
Go Del Monte! Perhaps Dole deserves to be driven out of business if they are so callous towards the well-being of others. If found guilty in court, nationalization of their plantations by those countries whose citizens have wrongfully suffered might be a way to strike a strong blow against the giant.

I've heard that if you smoke banana peels you can get high.
hahahaha do it. I know you want to, just go with it.
The banana peel high was a prank.
I guess different people deal with tragedy in various ways...
Dole's methods resembles America's use of Agent Orange in 'Nam. Dole may claim that Dole is simply doing things the American way in the Americas south of the USA. Americans like bananas. Dole makes money growing bananas or buying them to ship to the USA & selling the bananas to Americans. Don't expect Dole to stop using toxic chemicals from the plantation till they are sold in the USA till Dole is forced to stop using toxic chemicals. That's the American way & a revered American tradition of business in the USA.
America never stops exploiting people. First the Native Americans. Then the slaves. Now going across borders to exploit people further. Will it ever stop?
Did anybody see the 1971 movie, "Bananas", written by Woody Allen? (It's okay, he didn't get all weird and crazy until the 1980s, like who didn't...)
