Sarah Palin, R. Kelly Celebrated In Hypnotic Tribute Video

Sweet sassy molassey! I am back from vacation, looking to get back into the swing of the whole blogging thing, and this is what was waiting for me. Via The Cajun Boy, at Gawker, here's the world's first tribute video to Sarah Palin set to the strains of noted underaged watersports enthusiast R. Kelly. It's better than you even imagine it to be, with clips of her straight up holding babies and talking about drive-thru milkshakes with Glenn Beck, and quipping on the stump during the 2008 campaign back in those halcyon days where John McCain's family and advisers didn't despise her personally and ruefully lament their decision to WIN THE NEWS CYCLE by putting her on the ticket.

The video, by the way, is not satire. It's an earnest demonstration of affection from Conservatives4Palin. Can Mitt Romney's fans do better? Let's hope they try!

But four and a half minutes, and not one mention of that awesome Alaska jet she sold on eBay? And none of her brilliant explications on the on-court role of the point guard? These are the only disappointments. As always, I'd like to thank Sarah Palin and her awesome ability to garner clicks, on the internet.

If she were a man or a woman who was unattractive, I doubt anyone would have taken her seriously. She might as well give up politics and have her own Redneck Girl show on CMT. She'd have more fun, she would stop making a fool of herself and she'd have a following without trying to bring the country down with her.

I can't seem to agree with Sarah on anything of substance, but she's pretty and certain people really seem to like her. She is far too often "catty" for my way of seeing the world. Honestly, would you want a person who constantly said things to put other people down for a best friend? But those aren't the reason really for knowing that she would be a disaster if we ever allowed her to be President-­------Sara­h is well and truly ignorant about Americas domestic and international policies and needs. I wouldn't give a three year old a big knife and turn them loose in the kitchen and I'd do everything possible to insure that Sarah Palin never gets a whack at America. I sincerely hope that there are still enough intelligent Americans out there who understand just how perilous that would be.

I can see how this captures the simple congeniality that attracts people to Palin. It's actually a pretty good display of her likability, but says nothing about her lack of governing ability.

That's the thing that irritates me; simply being able to appear (and, sadly, a lot is just part of her act) "regular" is not good enough, she has to show depth beyond that. It's like being a Myspace celebrity, where all that matters is that you have a lot of fans. That's great, but that doesn't mean she ought to be advocating political policy.

I don't mind her being in the news, but she really ought to do herself, ans me, a favor and stick to something she knows, which she has demonstrated isn't real world politics.

How how funny! My goodness, she is hilarious! How grand would that be, having her as POTUS. Absolutely fabulous! I just can't wait to hear and watch her speeches on tv and the radio, altho on the radio we can't hear her wink, or maybe we can, and what does all this have to do with anything..?!? SO funny!! As far as I'm concerned, that campaign earned both McCain and Palin perpetual scorn until they decide to apologize, which I don't imagine happening any time soon.
