Brad Pitt Making A Movie His Kids Can See

Brad Pitt plays a Nazi-scalping lieutenant from the Tennessee mountains in 'Inglourious Basterds,' Quentin Tarantino's WWII epic/Nazi revenge fantasy that opens Friday.

"People lose some hair," he told Ann Curry Tuesday on the Today Show. "I lead a renegade group who takes scalps."

Probably not something he and Angelina Jolie will take their kids to see, but Pitt revealed another, less grisly project that will be family friendly.

"I'm doing a voice for an animation film. With Robert Downey Jr., Tina Fey. A superhero who wants out," he said. "He doesn't want to be a superhero anymore."

"Is this autobiographical?" Curry asked.

"It's not," said Pitt. "But that sounded like an angle."

Reports indicate the movie, due to hit theaters in November 2010, is called 'Oobermind' and that Will Ferrell has replaced Downey Jr. as the star.

Pitt said his kids inspired him to take on the role. "It's something they'll enjoy, think dad's cool," he said.

Some people are wondering how anyone knows that he smoked pot. He admitted it on Real Time with Bill Maher last Friday. Bill compliment­ed Brad on his ability to roll the perfect joint and Brad talked about how pot should be legalized and taxed but that he's given up pot (and smoking in general) for the sake of his kids.

I forgot to add to my earlier post something that Quentin Tarantino said in an interview with Howard Stern. Tarantino told Stern that Brad had a big chunk of Hashish that Brad shared with him. Apparently­, they smoked it using a coke can, prompting Tarantino to compliment Brad on his ingenuity. Tarantino said that this happened last July in France when Angelina was about to give birth to the twins.

That's nothing new. I used to live in Amsterdam and there's a coffeeshop I loved there called the Dampkring, and is was Brad Pitt and George Clooney's favorite coffeeshop­, they were goign there pretty often for years before he married Angelina, and it's not like it was a secret. There were pictures of him and Clooney on the wall of the shop.

Amsterdam, of course, is a place in which smoking pot in moderation is not considered synonymous with irresponsi­bility.

Actually, in the right roles, he's great (12 monkeys, Seven) but he has a tendency to pick movies that don't really fit his style..but­, Kirk Cameron he ain't.

Nah! She tries to sneak some iffy questions in about his kids...he knows what she's doing, but she is probably the best of the worst...he has to do promotions so why not get someone who is already familiar and who won't come at you with really stupid questions because she wants more access. It's a smart move on his part...at least he can walk out after these encounters not feeling dirty...we­'re the ones who hate it!
