nytimes.com:

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a $50,000 reward for a Seattle man it says is a domestic terrorist. But that has not kept him from keeping his pilot's license or from trying to sell his airplane online, apparently because the Transportation Security Administration has not compared the F.B.I.'s wanted list with the Federal Aviation Administration's list of licensed pilots.

The pilot, Joseph Mahmoud Dibee, 31, was indicted with 10 other people in January 2006, in Eugene, Ore., on charges that they committed arson, destroyed an electric tower and other acts of domestic terrorism. Credit for those acts and others were claimed by two groups, the Animal Liberation Front and the Earth Liberation Front.

what are the chances he isn't even a terrorist? Probably high.

Well it took so long to collect and investigate those 600 pages on Michael Jackson that they didn't get around to pulling the supposed terrorists FAA licenses. Geesh give it a bit of time will ya.

Heaven help us as we shoot ourselves in the foot over and over again. It is just unimaginable.

Health IT? Sounds like an integrated system dubbed Law Enforcement IT is in order. I wonder how much debt contributing waste is in the current system? What was DHLS doing under the Bush years? Was not better intelligence and information sharing one of the reasons cited for its formation? Oh, I am sure I have it wrong. All is well in America. The only thing we are missing is another round of tax cuts.

For Pete's sake, he's a vandal, not a terrorist. Calling that terrorism is either hysterial or a complete anbsence of any sense of proportion.

And dragging in the fact that he's a pilot AND a terrorist, as if he was the next Mohammed Atta who's going to crash his Cesna into the head office of the FDA is deliberately manipulative.

I might just point out that, even IF the US government cancels his flying license,
this gentleman and others STILL HAVE THE SKILL to fly an aircraft...and anyone
can STEAL an aircraft.

It is necessary that we have a much better coordination between law enforcement
and Federal/State licensing agencies regarding license revocations, but this will
not guarantee the public safety.

And here I thought the only pirates that could afford their own airplanes

were doctors and lawyers...

$39,000 will buy you a flying piece of junk. And just because you can fly THAT plane, doesn't mean you can fly faster or more complex aircraft.

However, anyone can crash a plane.

Meanwhile, law abiding citizens are harassed and detained daily in the airport by the TSA.

Remember the 3-1-1 rule... no liquids more than 3 ounces, all have to fit in a 1-quart bag. Remove your shoes, remove your laptop from its bag...........

Grandma gets taken to the side and strip searched...

WHAT A JOKE!

Oops.
An interesting screw-up.
Now that the DOJ is aware of this hole in their systems, I'm fairly certain they'll fix it in due course.

The photo is of a Piper Seneca, a real airplane that has some range and altitude capability. The Grumann they are citing is a single engine "day" plane and couldn't carry enough of a payload along with the pilot to do much serious damage, certainly not 9/11 type damage. Why can't they at least put a picture of the plane on the story?

So you'd have no problem volunteering your home for him to crash into then, seeing as how you're certain that the plane isn't big enough "to do much serious damage."

Incompetence in it's purest form. This kind of cr*ap cannot be allowed to fly in this country any longer.
