God lord, everyone seems to have decided it was some con or directed to Rush. We don't know anything expect his neice's car was torched. It could have been an ex boyfriend, it could have been a short in the wiring (the car doesn't look like it was doused in gasoline and set on fire), it could have been anything or anybody. how about we wait until we know what happened before we start pointing fingers?

according to THE HILL newspaper, there was evidence left all around the scene in the form of aluminum cans with accelerant and the attacker approached the car with a match to light it after she got in.

So being identified by her wasn't a concern because... she was supposed to die, or he wanted her to know who was attacking her? Also he had no fear of leaving evidence so I would guess he felt he had a right to do what he was doing, wasn't worried he'd be identified, or was crazy enough to not even think of the consequences of his actions.

Sounds more like domestic violence or a random nut, rather than some political thug or even an experienced fire bug.

Well, it is a local news story an the video is from a Chicago station, so that alone warrants a story. You are on the Chicago board after all. In addition, the happened to the relative of a national leader, which allows persons of all political beliefs to play conjecture.

Bobby Rush is a former Black Panther. In fact, he's one of it's founding members. He's also arguably the only politician who beat Barrack Obama in a election (In a primary).

Interesting that these "Second amendment" types applauded when the cops killed Black Panthers for bearing arms openly (and never even in the presence of public officials). Yet they whinge when they are asked not to bring weapons to public "Town Halls" where there are more than enough police.

The right- wing voted in droves for Nixon, "Mr. Law and Order" (who seemingly broke every one in the book if necessary to win an election) because he said he would crack down on black militants and "agitators­".Now they scream bloody murder when it comes out that a Bush-era report suggests that some disenchanted veterans (remember Tim McVeigh, or heck, Lee Harvey Oswald) might be lured into extremist groups..th­en blaming the report on Obama.

There are things parading as people on this blog like US(anti)Citizen, who make the average tro// look almost intelligent and of average education. That takes some doing. This misologist is by far even less astute than Dubya or Bonzo Reagan.

Perhaps this is being done on purpose. These people make most of the republicans (with the exception of a small few) look intelligent, rational and more in the center then they really are. If they are doing this I wouldn't be surprised. The right wing is playing chess while the Democrats think they are playing checkers.

George Bush leaped to conclusions and look where that got us. We have no idea who did this, so let's not pretend that we did. Basing your beliefs on "gut feelings" should be the realm of the Republican Party. We Democrats should let facts form the basis of our beliefs, not the other way around.
