Yeah, but the GOP clearly already doesn't care about alienating Latinos. They are picking a very "Mavericky" strategy that I think will backfire bigtime: Just court the statistically small group of right-wing white extremists out there.

I apologize to the Native americans and the reservations that have booming casino businesses I say good for you. However, that is not even close to payment for the devastation and slaughtering of the indians by the "white Man'. The GOP has always been a Party of "I got mine and I don't care about you" people. They are old, white men who have an affection for the days when they owned everything, including other people. How many times have you heard at these town hall meetings "I want my Country back"? Back where? Back to when Blacks and Latinos were not even considered human. When I see Black and Latino Republicans, I say to myself, "look how far we have NOT come".

Whatever immigration problems we have are our own doing. NFTA wrecked the Mexican rural agricultural economy. It gave the green light for large Agri-business to dump mechanized corn on the Mexican market. The Mexican farmers who rely on manual labor couldn't compete and the rural farm labor jobs disappeared. This drove desperate rural laborers to the big cities in Mexico and ultimately to the US just to survive. At the same time, businesses in the US were very happy to get the cheap labor so they could dump US citizens who expected higher wages.

If the Republican really wanted to fix the immigration situation, they'd cancel NFTA and give the Mexican farmers their agriculture back. They also might want to crack to down on American companies who hire illegals so they don't have to pay American a decent wage. Unfortunately, the Republican base is so xenophobic that it is much easier to just demonize the brown people.

Could be a good thing for the Latinos to move to the Democrat party. Latinos families are pretty conservative in most things, tend to be serious about their Religion (predominately Christian), Pro-Life, eye for eye justice system and have a strong work ethic. So maybe that the ticket for the Democrat party and they can push all those left wing nut jobs on over to the green party where they belong and return the Democrat party back to mostly reasonable people.

BTW illegal immigrants are being dumped long distance- hospitals are paying to put patients on planes and deporting them ; usually in cases where they are in a coma or need longer care.These people are dumped in mountain villages and left to their fates kind of like a medical rendition; hospitals of course have been dumping the homeless in our streets for several years.
