Later this week, we'll be launching our brand new Reach Your Goal 2009 program here on Self.com and in the September issue of the magazine. It's an awesome plan that lets you choose a specific body-success-objective and then maps out a simple, effective plan to help you achieve it. The first thing to do is change what you eat not how much you eat and the second thing no, absolutely no ready prepared foods. Bake it, fry it, boil it, all from scratch from completely unprocessed fresh ingredients. Once you have stabilised you diet, having to prepare foods will slow down your consumption, no quick open the box, tin, packet snacks, everything takes 30 odd minutes and leaves a big clean up (it is all exercise), you can then decide how much more you really need to do, if anything. Side note, use manual appliances in the kitchen not electric ones (excluding of course cooking appliances), slows you down further while exercising you up and will save you money over the long run. Want that cup of coffee with 'raw' sugar and fresh milk, get up and crank that coffee grinder, what that cake, get out the hand beater or spoon. Exercise at home, not only is it cheaper than the gym but there is also satisfaction in the quality of the food you prepare. If you don't have time to prepare it, then you don't have time to eat it.

Great post, people are eating way too much processed junk and the body rebels against it.
