American Flags Not Welcome At Oil Astroturf Rally

At a "grassroots" rally organized by the American Petroleum Institute in Houston on Tuesday, activists bearing American flags were turned away. Oil company employees were bused in to the "Energy Citizens" gathering to hear from billionaire Drayton McLane Jr. attack President Barack Obama's clean energy agenda as an economy-destroying energy tax. However, grassroots tea-party activists told Public Citizen Texas that they and their American flags were refused entry to the company picnic:

In February Obama signed the largest middle class TAX CUT in history when he signed the Stimulus Bill .... yet the rightwingers protested to keep the Bush Tax Cuts for the top 1% earners.

Instead of Drayton attacking the President's clean energy bill, he needs to be spending his time and energy figuring out how to come up with a winning team - the Houston Astros. It's hard to view someone's credibility when they're delusional. Drayton continues to talk about the Astros as contenders and talks about a World Series in 2010. Yeah, right, fat chance! With an open insurrection between the players and manager and fan attendance at an all time low, Drayton needs to take care of the Astros and let the President take care of the country. When he wins a World Series, he may get my attention. Until then, Drayton needs to follow the example of the Repubs and disregard "Country First”. Then get back in the ball game and give us a home team we can root for.

Of course they didn't want the American flag. It represents the government of the people, for the people and by the people. They don't care about people, they care about their wealth and their power, and the fact that many of them are going to be prosecuted for tax evasion due to their offshore accounts.

They've always hated our government and the republic. Their desires are naked power, and, when the government plays their game, they support it. When the government lets them get around tax law, and cuts their taxes, they love the government. But things are changing, and they are the true angry American citizens.

They are angry because their greed and their thievery from the pockets of Americans are being exposed. Clean Energy means Oil is not King, Health Care Reform means the Insurance industry can't extort money from you by "providing" health care. Like they do anything other than take peoples money and cheat patients, doctors and hospitals.

The gullible people who are now hating their own government have been deceived and need to wake up and realize to whom they are giving their allegiance. It's not too late to eat crow, but for the sake of your own health and the health of your children and grandchildren, wake up to the lie by which you are hooked like a trout.

Get some pride and some dignity, and above all some patriotism. Stop making fools out of yourself because of fear.

Get a backbone.
