Those same universities have NO PROBLEM letting loan shark credit card companies seduce college students with free stuff in return for financial kick backs on every debt trap credit card they can peddle to the unsuspecting student masses.

It seems to me the primary function of a college now is to saddle new adults with anormous amounts of debt while hopefully preparing them for a career in which they can send the largest majority of their paycheck back to the bank.

Isn't college fun, kiddies? Yes, higher education means when you get to college you can get higher than you did even in high school. Come join the party! Your parents can foot the bill, and your favorite beverages are waiting to fill your thirsty souls.

Yes, America, pay no attention to those foreign student with their high SAT scores, since they'll be working for you, 'cause for the privileged few, there's no need for good grades. We'll get you through, daddy will get you the position and we'll all get paid!!

There's so much to learn. Get laid without even remembering that you got laid! Take tests without even remembering you took the test. And hey, if your daddy's made a way, there's a free ride straight to the White House.

No child left behind here. You won't leave your childish, simplistic, distorted view behind. It will be permanently engraved in your autonomic nervous system. You'll always be a kid!

Here, take this big foam hand with the one finger. Get to the the White House, and you can use it to press the red button to start a war.

Hey, it's only a game, and our team rocks!

Who needs intelligence, when you've got an American higher than a kite education?

Be thankful for the foreign students, many of whom will stick around and fill the positions we have shortages in. Namely, science and math fields. It's called the 'brain drain.' We're picking up smart foreigners so we (America) can stay competitive in fields that not enough locals are interested in (like scientific research).

An article about this is in today's Des Moines Register, showing the "school color" can's of Iowa State and U of Iowa.

Okay, on the one hand, an ISU spokesman (i.e. administrator) is saying "we didn't endorse this" while the senior associate ATHLETIC director, states that Anheuser-Busch has "paid for the right to use Iowa State's logo in other promotional materials..."

Haha, so the *athletic* department cut a deal. Such integrity, I tell ya! "Athletes, don't go out and drink; never mind that we'll *use* you to get some cash out of Anheuser-Busch."

Please, the athletes get handsome pay-offs in the form of scholarships. They're not victims, they're people who know a good deal when they see it.

This is about hypocrisy: the very athletic department that says "don't drink!" to the athletes turns around and fills their coffers with Anheuser-Busch dollars.

Duh, of course scholarship athletes go where the deal is...

This says a great deal about what's wrong with American education. It's dictated by corporations and its aim is to produce good, obedient, loyal proles.
