Islanders Insist Chelsea Clinton To Wed Soon On Martha's Vineyard

The Obamas might not be the only ones causing a stir on Martha's Vineyard next week. Rumor (still) has it that former first daughter Chelsea Clinton will tie the knot with her longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky in a ceremony at the estate of Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen. But, according to the Washington Post, all parties involved are keeping the potential nuptials very hush-hush:

So if Chelsea Clinton is getting married on Martha's Vineyard in the next 10 days -- and some chatty islanders plus the National Enquirer insist that she is -- it should help to have a former commander in chief, a current secretary of state and a brigade of Secret Service agents acting as her co-conspirators.

Most hush-hush of all is Hillary Clinton who claimed she knew nothing of a wedding.

According to some celebrity wedding planners, denial is the first step in keeping the paparazzi at bay. Aliases, creating a diversion and a short guest list also help, too. We wonder if the Obamas will be invited! You know...if the wedding were to happen...

If Chelsea does get married, I can understand why she would want to be quiet about it.
A true wedding ceremony is not a free fpr all, where all those who would want to profit from it or those who would hate would want to do what they do.

What I really like is that Hillary raised Chelsea first, then became a politician herself. Not like that Palin woman who dragged babies after her onto stages and embarrassed her entire family by airing their dirty laundry on the world stage. I think that's probably why Chelsea is turned out so well, she was a priority of her parents.

Hillary put an end to the rumors at the end of July when she said emphatically that Chelsea is not engaged.

This young lady turned out to be a credit to her parents and to America. She has the advantage of wealthy parents who sent her to fabulous schools; a lot of people may be equally intelligent but didn't have her advantages. I worked many of her events during the campaign. She is everything I have stated and then some. Very unique, gifted and beautiful young woman. I don't know where you are getting the plastic surgery information. Do you have any proof of that? I didn't think so h8r.

I went to one of those political events she did with her mother and while I eventually chose to vote for another candidate, I thought Chelsea was articulate, persuasive, and attractive. The fact that she immediately leapt to her feet to assist an audience member she noticed was fainting got her extra points in my book. And I'm thrilled to know she's giving up investment banking for something more responsive to the public welfare. If she does get married, I wish her every happiness and no helicopters ruining her day.
