BUENA PARK, Calif. — An ex-model found stuffed in a bloodstained suitcase without fingers or teeth was so badly mutilated that authorities had to use breast implants to identify her body, prosecutors said Friday.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Marshals Service offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a wealthy reality TV show contestant who was charged Thursday with murder in the gruesome slaying of Jasmine Fiore.

Detectives tracked the serial number on the implants because they could not use fingerprints or dental records, said Farrah Emami, a spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney's office.

Fiore's body was found Aug. 15 in a trash bin in Buena Park, an Orange County city about 20 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

Authorities believe Jenkins, a contestant on VH1's "Megan Wants a Millionaire," may have fled more than 1,000 miles to reach his native Canada.

Buena Park police Lt. Steve Holliday said Jenkins, a native of Calgary, Alberta, is possibly armed with a handgun. Prosecutors recommended bail of $10 million upon his arrest and said he had significant resources to finance his flight.

Prosecutors revealed the U.S. Coast Guard briefly pursued a boat Wednesday off the northwest coast of Washington state that was registered to Jenkins, but it eluded them. The Coast Guard was unable to verify that Jenkins was aboard but believe he was, Emami said.

Authorities in Whatcom County, Wash., have said they received a report that a man matching Jenkins' description arrived by boat Wednesday at Point Roberts, U.S. territory about 10 miles away at the tip of a peninsula reachable by land only from Canada. Authorities believe Jenkins walked across the border to British Columbia.

Jenkins' car and an empty boat trailer were found at a marina in the northwest Washington town of Blaine, just across the bay from Point Roberts.

Canadian authorities have since ended a massive border search using helicopters, ground police and dogs but continued their investigation, Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sgt. Duncan Pound said. Tips in Canada were "on the low end," he said.

However, a Thursday news conference in Southern California prompted phone tips to American authorities that were being pursued, said Tom Hession, chief inspector for the U.S. Marshals Service's regional fugitive task force.

He declined to elaborate.

Jenkins is a real estate developer and investor who is also the son of a prominent Canadian architect. On the reality show, he said he had between $1 million and $2.5 million, Hession said, adding the money could help Jenkins stay ahead of police or work against him.

"It could be an area where he may not have access to that wealth, where he has assets that he has to sell or something like that and then he's going to have to expose himself to potential arrest," Hession said.

Hession declined to say if authorities were watching Jenkins' assets as part of their investigation.

"When we're looking for someone who's a fugitive, we try to find out everything we can about that person," he said. "We're going to turn every rock over."

Fiore and Jenkins were briefly married in a quickie Las Vegas wedding in March and had been fighting in recent months. Prosecutors said the two checked into a San Diego hotel Aug. 13, and Jenkins checked out the next morning. Fiore was not seen alive again.

Fiore's mother, Lisa Lepore, told The Associated Press her daughter had the marriage annulled in May. However, there were no court records of an annulment in either Clark County, Nev., where the couple was married, or in Los Angeles County, where they most recently lived.

Court records show Jenkins was charged in June in Clark County, Nev., with a misdemeanor count of "battery constituting domestic violence" for allegedly hitting Fiore in the arm and was set to be tried in December.

Neal Tomlinson, a partner at the law firm representing Jenkins in that case, declined to comment.

In his hometown of Calgary, Jenkins was sentenced to 15 months probation in January 2007 on an unspecified assault charge.

Alain Hepner, Jenkins' attorney in that matter, said as part of the judgment the judge also ordered counseling for anger management, domestic violence and sexual addiction. Hepner said there was also a civil restraining order.

In Calgary, Paulina Chmielecka said she was engaged to Jenkins for 2 1/2 years and never saw a violent side.

"The guy was a great guy, as far as I knew he was very happy," she told the Canadian TV network CTV. "In our relationship, we had our fights – everyone does – but I would never say, 'Well, he could have murdered someone.' There's no way."

A resume posted on the professional networking site LinkedIn.com says Jenkins has a license to fly commercial airplanes and has dabbled in several development enterprises and investments since graduating from college in 1999. Those include Townscape Development Inc., a condo project undertaken in Calgary with his father, architect Daniel Jenkins.

The elder Jenkins did not return phone or e-mail messages at his office.

After taping for "Megan Wants a Millionaire" finished in early March, Jenkins met Fiore in a Las Vegas casino and the two got married, said Lepore, Fiore's mother. Court records show the date of marriage as March 18.

But in May "they had a big blowout" and fought because he was jealous of her ex-boyfriends, Lepore said.

Jenkins then went to Mexico to do another reality TV show but struggled to get Fiore back when he returned.

"He convinced her during that month that he was really the guy for her," Lepore said. "He wrote poems and stories, and prayed, and (claimed he) had this huge spiritual awakening."

The U.S. has filed a provisional apprehension warrant with Canada that allows officials there to issue a Canadian arrest warrant based on the U.S. charges, said Hession, the U.S. marshals official. The Canadian government will extradite defendants to the U.S. but only with reassurances that they will not face the death penalty in the U.S.

Emami, the Orange County district attorney spokeswoman, has said her office is not pursuing the death penalty.

This was a real person, and her mother is a real person, and this is so horrible and ghoulish what happened, I don't really get the haters here, maybe blogs can be an evolutionary tool.

Here we can see people making fun, insulting and joking about a corpse of a person who was alive just a few days ago.

Here we can see bloggers using her to further their own vitriolic hatred and rant about why its understandable that women beat children and why all men are evil, or why its ok to torture someone to death, just as long as you torture the type of person they think deserves it. Or why we can use a murdered body as a vehicle to rant about personal politics of our own obsession.

Even using this blog for Attacking and insulting each other......

Maybe its not surprising so many people kill, there are bloggers here tonight who are condoning torture and killing as long as it is dispensed upon those they detest.

Maybe I should change my handle to Debbie Downer, sorry... next time I'll tell a joke about a Penguin having sex with a Seal... it's a really funny joke I swear!

It seems you have plenty of judgments yourself -- for one, saying bloggers are responsible for increased murder rates. Uhm, how about the murderers being responsible for their acts and yes, victims, taking responsibility for their actions.

What words would you put into the mouths of others? Or would you silence everyone? Is there only one reaction to this tragedy or can there be many? Oh wait, don't say a word, I already know what you'll say and I wont' like it so don't bother offending me. (It's like that, right?)

Thank you for challenging the exact thing I have cornered.
I posted earlier in this blog to 'participate' by stating certain opinions and the very bloggers who were blowing hatred at men, started making personal attacks at me.

They were/are stating their 'expert' opinions that this man was exactly what they say he is, and - I am not kidding - that the reason this woman died her hair blonde and got implants, was because men act stupid

"we (women) see what men go absolutely stupid over. It makes sense for a woman who makes money off of her body to emulate that for maximum profits."

more great quotes:
"Do you really think women wouldn't bleach their hair and get implants if men didn't like it? I am sure she made lots of money as a stripper for doing so. Good for her."

"... when you see men falling all out for implants, it makes sense. Especially for someone who made money off of their body."

Honestly, I was a little surprised I seemed to have killed the party, with my downer morality sermon...., so thanks for saying something to challenge me, and keep some sort of discourse alive

" She was simply capitalizing off of men being dumb - so good for her."

I don't have to put words into the mouths of others.... they're doing a fine job on their own

This guy should have known better. The part of her body that should have told him she was nothing but trouble is the same part that lead to her body being identified, and now he runs. Run fool Run.

There's a ghoulish, post-modern country / folk song in here...

He took the fingers and teeth but left the breasts behind.
Ironically, the breasts were his favorite part.
Now they'll be used to convict him.
Now that's justice...for her, her breasts, and every woman whose been encouraged implicitly or explicitly to enlarge her breasts.
Get it? The very thing he wanted, desired....brought his downfall. I mean...
OK, I think you get it.

I think it's sad that some women feel like they need to put a bag of silicon under their skin to be more attractive. I can't possibly be the only man who feels handling/kissing flesh-covered bags of silicon is the opposite of a turn on. Am I alone on that?

Identified by breast implants.....signs of the times; I understand the reasoning behind it, (missing teeth, digits) but in OC, CA....that next item was a no brainer!

This is truly a very sad story, but it's even more troubling how much gender politics is being bantered here.

I did not have to wait long because I knew it was coming, and I even correctly guessed the blogger that would say it.

Actually blaming men for a woman's decision to get plastic surgery, and then the whole basket that goes with that mind set. Excuse the woman for her poor choices, blame men for encouraging her to do what she obviously chose to do with her life, then making wild guesses about what happened and stating them as facts.....

Im sorry for all the haters out there, and I know facts are easy to twist, like the fact that most child abusers are women.... (and here come the excuses why women beat kids..... it's really the fault of men...)

My God, if the family reads this.... I'm so very sorry for what happened to your loved one.

She did not deserve for her life to be taken away.

Her parents did not deserve to have a dead child.

For everyone who is bashing her, most murdered women are killed by their boyfriends/ex-boyfriends/husbands/ex-husbands. She is no different from Lacey Peterson in that respect. Don't hate her just because she was a skinny blond with fake boobs. Women wouldn't go for that look if there were not a huge chunk of American men who fall all out over that look. She was simply capitalizing off of men being dumb so good for her. And no, she didn't meet her husband in the best of circumstances but most Americans marry for dumb reasons and most marriages end in horrific divorces, I don't think anyone can really say anything.

I am non-religious and hate using Biblical references but Who has not sinned cast the first stone.

If they find him in Canada, they ought to extradite him back to the US. The crime was committed here in the US, and he might have murdered an American Citizen. Canada has no right to detain him there. Period.

If he's the murderer, he deserves the death penalty.

The problem with the death penalty is when someone gets it wrong.

It's going to happen. I'm against the death penalty for common criminals where identity can be mistaken.

I'm for the death penalty where criminals are of such prominence, there is no possibility of a mistaken conviction. Even if it's a leader of a nation who is a war criminal, it may be wiser to keep them alive for historical purposes, to extract information. On the other hand, it may be wiser to kill them so they don't manipulate public opinion from prison.

I understand your position on the death penalty Balzac.

The punishment sought by the prosecutor will depend upon exactly where Jenkins is apprehended. Most of the countries that America has extradition treaties with do not have the death penalty. Any of those countries that apprehend a suspect can require the US to nor seek the death penalty in exchange for their cooperation in apprehending and extraditing the suspect.

So in the case, if Canada catches Jenkins they may require the state of California to drop the death penalty as punishment if conviction occurs.

Well Duh! Of course Canada will extradite him to the US, we have an extradition treaty with Canada. Canada has no jurisdiction to pursue prosecution.

However, that being said, Canada will require that California not pursue a death penalty if conviction occurs.

This man will most likely commit suicide rather than face life in prison.

This guy sounds like a classic domestic abuser. His ex-fiancee says she never saw this side of him. But, if she had married him -- once she was his -- this violence would have started. Sometimes, the abuse starts on the honeymoon. These guys have one face they present to the world, and a dark, dangerous, controlling side that reveals itself in private.

Sometimes women choose them for after a surgery necessitated by cancer. Sometimes to equalize the size of one or the other. In general, I'm against them.

What kind of person would do this?

What kind of a person needs to have a black BMW SUV, live in West Hollywood, and seek fame through "reality TV"? What kind of culture encourages young women to have plastic breasts? What kind of man desires a woman with plastic body parts?
