dzent1. I beg you to commend our President on a single accomplishment of noteworthiness since his arrrival on the scene of power. Then I want you to read any comments to your commendation(s). I have commended him when he has arisen to the responsibilities of his Office and no other time. The few commendations are an ominous sign of big troubles on the near horizon.

"Obama Has Fewer Than Half of His Top Appointees In Place"

Also true:
Obama has fewer friends this week than he did last week.

This is all part of the Republic's plan to cause Obama to fail as President. If they obstruct his appointments he won't have the people in place he needs to do his job.

I have never seen anything like what the Republics are doing in all the years I have been following politics. I think that President Obama and the Democrats need to talk about this obstruction every chance they get. The American public doesn't know about it and they need to.

The article goes on to state that the number of appointees in place is comparable to the past two presidents.

So.... ?

The right wingnuts got so comfortable being in power that, now that the roles have been reversed, it is driving them to the point of madness. Who suffers because of this pettiness? The American people of course!

This is a problem with our form of government. In a parliamentary system, you have a "shadow" government that has everyone in place waiting for the next election and closely following their ministerial counterparts. However, the day to day functioning of the government is done by career bureaucrats, that follow what the politicians decide for the direction of the government. There is no waiting for appointees. May not be better system, but the government gets to it programs quicker.
