Mr. Gergen's book will not deal with the Obama administration specifically, but will explore in general terms what happens when a new administration takes over the presidency.
"What Gergen is writing about is how any new administration gets rolling and assumes power," Mr. Rosenthal said.

Next time read the article...it stated he's written only one other book: 'Eyewitness to Power' published in 2001.

Sounds as mainstream and boring as his commentary on CNN. This guy is a classic inside the beltway, old school, self promoting opinion maker. He has no strong opinions on anything. Yawn. This will be a book I would never buy.
I used to like him & found his voice to be soothing. Lately, though, he is so negative that he just comes off sounding whiny.
I'd buy it, he's one of my favorites.
I hope he achieves the same "Churchillian" heights he attributed to cheney's defense of his war crimes. Gergen pretends to be judiciously impartial, but he's just another republican tool.
I like him. He often reminds me of Tim Russert.
David Gergen is an excellent analyst, the only reason why CNNs election coverage is better than the alternative. I look forward to this. He's the real balanced, independent, experienced insider - with good communication skills...
