BEIRUT -- "The bombs are dropping on Beirut with Snoop Doggy Dogg!" said rap music fan Nick Haddad as he walked out of the show in the Lebanese capital this past weekend.

The 18-year-old Lebanese Canadian was of course referring to the "bombs" in the lyrics of Snoop Dogg's raps, not the other bombs that some people may associate with Beirut.

I have personally been to Beirut and Tel Aviv and I have to say that the nightlife in Tel Aviv is hands down a lot better than it is in Beirut. I'm judging this by the quality of the nightclubs and various parties. Beirut was a fun city, but nothing compared to Tel Aviv.

Also, if Turkey is considered the Middle East then Istanbul definitely has a better night life than Beirut as well.

Just for the record, if you want to party internationally, I suggest you go to Ibiza. This "Beirut versus Tel Aviv" thing is a boxing match between midgets. Probably costs less, gets you more laid and less chance of being blown away in a sectarian conflict or harassed by fanatics of some sort.
