The long-awaited memoir by Senator Edward M. Kennedy, who died Tuesday night at the age of 77, will be released next month.
Titled "True Compass," the 544-page book will go on sale Sept. 14, according to the publisher, Twelve, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing.

Look at this and tell me there's a Republican that has the ideology that ALL Americans, instead of a his/her select group, are to be championed for. There's a difference between being a politician for the people and a politician for your group. Unfortunately, many GOPers just can't get past the racial attitudes they were raised in. This is not good for the country.

If any GOP Politician today can live up to Kennedy's idealism I would give them a clap, but John McCain has been a senator for 27 years and what did he accomplish? Not one Bill to his name, President OBAMA was a Senator for 2 years if they give him that, and he had MAJOR BILLS to his name, so what do the GOP and their Politicians really stand for? I will tell you one thing, with Grassley acting like that, who needs IOWA ETHONAL, just pass and go straight to electric cars, that is why he is so pissed, because OBAMA jump pass ethonol for the cheapest product, I am so blessed to be stressed, the GOP will never regain any majority in American Politics, and who among the minority super majority in the waiting will vote for a bigot party that is totally defined by their color and lack of diversity. Look at the town hall meetings, all WHITE and yes, "so OLD" , THEY are awaiting their "GREAT WHITE HOPE!" HA HA HA, FUNNY AS FUNNY DOES! KENNEDY will be enshrined in History, he is mytic and in 100 years his family will become Myths and Legends of America, they are Gods!

Now I realize that Teddy had been given so many months to live last year. He went home to enjoy the things he wanted to do. No wonder he was sailing so much. His son said that he outlived the time table given to him. He must've been given a very short time to live.

How noble of him.
He turned out to be a remarkable politician. He CARED about all Americans. I look at the Kennedy's, with their privileged upbringing and wonder how all those children weren't snotty bigots? They were far from it and Rose Kennedy can be thanked for that. The value they put into under privileged American lives had to start at home.
When the brothers were trying to work out civil rights issues in the '60s they took it slow and communicated with blacks, their constituents and hateful whites as well. That HAD to be so tough to do but they weren't silent with acceptance. They wanted America to be equal and to change.
Hats off to a true politician who gave more of himself than just lip service.

Then you name another politician who ACTUALLY helped folks. Strom Thurmond was a racist old man who had to have assistants wheel him into session and raise his arm to vote. That's not working, that's ridiculous. So was Jesse Helms.
