I guess we just better forget about it, god forbid they get distracted. Or even worse, Leon Panneta even threatened to quit, we certainly can't have that.

It's not a distraction if Obama sides with justice.

I am convinced that the citizens of Missouri were correct when they turned Senator John Aschroft 'out to pasture' in favor of a dead man, Mel Carnihan.

Somewhere in the brilliance of the Bush/Cheney administration, the name Ashcroft came up. Lo and Behold, a perfect Attorney General. That didn't turn out so good. So Bush/Cheney went for a' real' prize, Alberto Gonzales.

Today, Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft, Gonzales,........countless others are afraid, not of a dead man, but of the citizens of this country and an Attorney General that represents us and not the White House. After all, the president is a professor of constitutional law and does not need a lawyer.

As usual the Huff lead was mis-leading. "At odds" can only mean a good thing. One half century of corrupt operatives in CIA- escalated to implosion by the Bush Regime - and a Justice Department on the mend after the damages brought into its core by the Bush Regime must be cleaned up and out! Holder and Panetta can do this!

Yep.

This is what the GOP wants us all to believe.

They'll throw themselves in front of anything President Obama tries to get done, no matter how big or how small, no matter who it benefits or how critical it may be.

They absolutely will not support a single thing he tries to do, simply as a matter of policy - even if it was their idea in the first place! In fact, they don't even need to know what it is to be against it.

And then, whether it be health care reform, a foreign relations crisis, an economic summit, or a national security issue, they will say he shouldn't be pursuing it, not when the country is in such a state. God knows, he might get distracted. We all know he can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

Well, actually he does that just fine. It's just a lot harder to do when your being torpedoed constantly. And by the guys who are supposed to be helping you run the country, no less.

Why didn't President Obama fire Panetta when he made his unbelievably remarks concerning Speaker Pelosi? Our President needs to clean house. He needs to do it soon before all democratic voters desert him.

what many of yall don't seem to understand is that our government is so corrupted its going to be hard changing anything who do you trust when every aspect of our government has been corrupted., Obama would literally need a secret army to go an round all the crimnals up. The best they can do is shine a light on all the crime and then let the world deal with them!

A wise man once said: "The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that Liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so much that isn't true".

What ever happened to sodium penathol, this used to known as truth serium. I have had surgeries under local aesthia with this drug as a back up and it was the best , I told the Doctor I loved her and I wished the drug came in six packs, and I wasn't lyin, she was cute, but with this drug you can't lie and its pleasant, it what I like to call a kinder, gentler torture. So how many millions of dollars are we going to waste with special investigations for the next two years over three people being tortured. No ones going to jail, these guys were doing there jobs, doing what they were told to do to a few real bad dudes who deserved everything they got and more.

You haven't been keeping up with this story have you? There were hundreds tortured. More than one hundred murdered during torture. Young boys raped. You really should do some research.

Rahm Emanuel has been putting pressure on Holder and the Justice Department for months to drop any plans for an investigation. That Holder prevailed is a triumph for the independence of the department.

The entire government in WA and beyond is corrupt. Corrupt. Corrupt. Corrupt.
The whole world knows this, because you really can't hide the elephant in the room.
Investigate and prosecute to root out the corruption. Could be nobody will be left standing.

If Cheney thought torture was such a good idea, why did he hide the fact? Comry and Goldsmith dissented so why the secrecy about it?

Cheney has to say that torture worked but much torture was directed at establishing confessions that would further his agenda of connecting 9-11 to Saddam Hussein.

How many ticking time bombs were defused by information obtained by torture? Instead, Cheney advanced his narrative for endless war over energy resources by false confessions obtained by torture. To that extent, Cheney succeeded is his torture policy. Torture was used to get witches to confess and the Inquisition was extended by centuries. The witchcraft witch hunt was extended even to the Salem Witchcraft trials in the US.

Cheney was sucker-punched on 9-11. Where were our defenses? Now war crimes are being alleged. Cheney's inane attempts to justify his behavior reminds one of the last Inquisitor trying to keep the old system going where witches could be torured and killed on heresay evidence. Kafka's Penal Colony comes to mind.

This should not be the same scenario as when the Republicans went after Clinton. From what we witnessed, Obama can do several items at once, that is why he has all those people in his cabinet and departments that report to him. He is the executive whose principle job it is, to see to it that the objectives and rules put forward by the congress gets done. Let's just call him the Octopus. The problem will not be for him. It will be for the congress. What he has to focus on is to make sure that the changes that Bush created are checked by the Supreme court to see if these Bush Administrative craziness is constitutional and need whacking.

So why have half the positions in his cabinet not been filled, could it be the czars will be taking the place of those cabinet positions, the cabinet jobs are subject to congresses approval, but for some reason the czars are exempt, or is it possible that people that respect the constitution just don't want the jobs that are being offered. I think he has failed everything he said he would do, save the economy? Stimulus? Transparency? Health care, (to be determined)? Don't hold your breath, I voted for change I could believe in, not change what I believe in. I won't make that mistake again.

In your order:
1) All 15 cabinet positions are currently confirmed and filled.
2) The term “czar” is used by the press to describe a person in charge, it is not part of any official title.
3) The senate, not congress, confirms cabinet appointees.
4) Most of the positions the press refers to as “czar” do, in fact, require senate confirmation.
5) Delays in filling positions has been due to senate confirmation, not a lack of candidates.

Does anyone really believe this is just the AG making this call? Can anyone honestly say the President's fingerprints are not on the decision with the appropriate comments jotted down in the margins.
