funny video It happens to all young families, It's part of growing up. But oh man, is daddy in trouble!

So he is on the computer when he should have been watching the kids, good thing they did not get into the knives or bleach. I'm sure mom will have alot to say and next time maybe she should get a responsible teenager to watch the kids instead of dad.

Relax! Parents of small children usually don't keep sharp knives and bleach where the kids can get them. I think you missed the point completely. This video is about enjoying life instead of being too uptight.

That's what I got out of this. That is a great dad actually. Just kicking back and being amused by the chaos.

When my kids (Irish twins a year apart) were going through that stage I put them in the bathtub with finger paints or chocolate pudding and let them flail away, covering the tile and themselves in glorious goo. When they were done I washed them and the tub down.

At first I did not see your point, but that is because my response to this video is anger, and it is upsetting. And I almost missed your point. I think what you did sounds fun and very creative and the point being that children are naturally curious and love playing, expressing and creating. It is a great idea and you are a great parent because not only did you create this safe form of play and expression but you were there watching over the entire glorious event! Salute.

Man, that's brilliant! I've never heard of someone doing that, but it really is brilliant. My youngest is now seven; where were you six (or thirteen!) years ago?

A few years back my neighbour's husband was left in charge of his 2 and 3 yr olds one evening when his wife had to rush her mother to ER. Knowing she would be out for hours he invited friends over for beer and video games.
A couple of hours later he goes to the kitchen to get more beer and only remembers the children when he sees his 3 yr old pointing at the dog flap. He's about to search for his 2 yr old when his front door bell rings, it's the Police with one of his neighbours and in the background there's an ambulance with its lights flashing.
The Police enter the house, they think that it is his child that has just been knocked down by a truck across the street. Left unsupervised his 2 yr old had wiggled through the dog flap into the yard. In her haste his wife had not shut the yard gate earlier and this very small child just wandered out into a dark street where the truck driver just couldn't see him.
Even though this video looks amusing this parent is lucky his children didn't hurt themselves in a million and one other possible ways while he was busy. While i'm sure he didn't mean to ignore them, parents should know children can be sneaky, creative and can quickly get into serious mischief if you take your eyes off of them for even a nano second.

Thank you for sharing that difficult and tragic story...it is a worthy reminder of the grave responsibility it is to guard children and to keep them safe every moment.

I find no humor here...I see a dad who obviously was absent with children of an age where grave danger could have happened...the mess here is the dad...I hope this is looked into by the authorities! This is very wrong.
12:53 AM on 08/30/2009
I don't think the calling the authorities is warranted, but responsible parents should decry his efforts at parenting. Scary.

The authorities are going to see this...they will make a decision...no one needs to make any phone calls. I would definitely be at this house investigating these parents if I were in charge. I think this dad has more than his spouse to worry about.

Ha,ha,ha......................................look at their legs! And they're so proud of themselves. He does sound like an awesome dad. I wouldn't want to have to clean that up. I hope he made them help.

When my son was that age he got into a giant jar of Desitin- that white, oily stuff that prevents diaper rash. After he covered himself with it, he went on to cover every square inch of his rocking horse, a chair and was working on the walls when I found him. Memo to new parents: When it is too quiet, beware!

My nephew used the contents of his diaper to paint the kitchen so I wouldn't worry about the toxicity of cake batter.

Mommy needs to see this video, book herself a couple of days at a local Hotel/Spa combo (using Daddy's credit card), until Daddy cleans up the mess and bathes the kids.

There were painters painting the exterior of the house, they went to lunch, why did they leave the paint and paintbrush??? my 3 year old painted the windows he could reach because they were the only place that hadn't been painted. The painters cleaned it up. I blamed them.

Reminds me of a poem I love - it's a translation of an Irish poem.

There was jam
On the door handle
But I suppressed the anger
That rose up in me,
Because I thought of the day
That the door handle would be clean
And the little hand
Would be gone.

My younger sister and her friend, they were about 4 years old, were climbing around on road tar spreader after the paving crew stopped working for the day. One of them opened a valve and about 30 gallons of still warm tar spilled out onto the street, then they rode their tricycles through the puddles. It was an awful mess to clean up.

Babies are such jerks. Even when they become toddlers. Best way to ruin a party? Invite some toddling tot or even worse, some a-hole baby!

Not to mention when some big babies grow up puckered at both ends.
