Normally, I am categorically opposed to the practice in business or government of taking into account someone's physical appearance when deciding whether to hire/fire someone or to enter into a professional relationship with them.

With Penn I'll have to make an exception. The guy looks like he has the heart of a little boy...in a jar of formaldehyde sitting on his night stand.

Seriously, have you seen the way he sweats through a suit? Could he be the long lost third Weinstein (Harvey and Bob) brother?

That's because it's all about the money at the WSJ. Murdoch has ruined a formerly trustworthy news publication. The slant in news coverage is painfully transparent - all-right-wing-all-the-time b.s.

He ruined the NY Post too. Once it was a respected publication, and was actually rather liberal.

I can remember when the Post ran actual in-depth stories and featured some awesome columnists. It began to nosedive when this real whacko (whose name I can't recall at the moment) took over. Murdoch finished the process and hardly anybody can remember a time when the Post was a reputable paper.

I am going to write and ask if I can get a discount if I order the paper minus the editorials and columns.

"The Wall Street Journal said on Thursday that it would keep the public relations executive Mark J. Penn as a columnist, and that the paper’s ethical standards were not violated when an executive at Mr. Penn’s firm set out to use one of his columns to drum up business."

The key phrase here is "... the paper’s ethical standards... " The WSJ has no ethical standard for its editorial pages. And under Murdock what standard they had is sinking into the sunset.
