Wall Street Journal:

Jane Angelich used to joke about her husband, Mark, going bald. Then with one faulty flick of the wrist, she made it happen.

Mr. Angelich had begun cutting his own hair to save money. His wife offered to trim a spot in the back he couldn't reach. So she picked up an electric razor, "put a little too much oomph into it," and carved out a "giant chunk" of hair. The fix: She shaved his entire head.

Does nose hair count?

The pup costs me $35 every 6 to 8 weeks.

I don't spend that much on myself.

But then, his hair does look better than mine!!

:)

Yep, I started about a year ago. My wife was afraid at first but now after a few successful buzz cuts she is getting a bit adventurous so one of these days we might try a fade or maybe even a flat top. Or in order to make me more comfortable in our mid-America wintertime climate I might just leave it grow till spring.

I used to cut my own mid-shoulder length hair after I gave birth because I didn't have time to go to the salon and probably still could if I decided to. And have been cutting my husband's hair for 14 years. Nothing to it. I only get my hair cut about every 3 months anyway. It's the people with short hair that need those frequent haircuts.

You know you're a news addict when you read this stuff. My father gave me two important bits about life (wish he had given me money). First was to never kiss a metal light pole when the temperature was below 0 Second was to neveask a barber if you needed a haircut.
you also know that you have consumed way too much beer if you responde to this story.

It happens during every recession. Maybe the places like Supercuts should be reducing their prices by 10~15%. After all, they only spend someplace between 5 and 12 minutes per customer. At $14.50 per haircut they are raking in the money.

I just hope deemed income taxes are being paid for the bartering of this service - we all need to carry our load for the government programs we so dearly want offered to us. Tax payments are the way.

Wow we have been trendy and did not know it.
But with tall blonde teenage boys and the gilrs who love their long hair it does not take much. lol

One day they will be bald like dad . That is the funny part.

Some guy invented the flowbee in the late 80's. My guy friends have been doing their own hair ever since. Not the best cuts, but they don't care. It's an old trend, just like us.
