NEW YORK - Michael Jackson's father says he'd never heard of the drug propofol until it was implicated in his son's death.

"I'm not angry. I'm mad," Joe Jackson said in an interview that aired Monday on NBC's "Today" show. "I didn't know all this was going on. That's what I'm mad about."

The Los Angeles County coroner's office announced Friday that Michael Jackson's death on June 25 was a homicide caused primarily by propofol and another sedative, and ruled propofol with other anti-anxiety drugs was a contributing factor in his death.

Jackson was using propofol to help him sleep, a practice medical experts consider extremely dangerous.

Joe Jackson said the coroner's announcement "tells me there was foul play done. That's what it tells me. And more to be investigated to see what is behind all of this stuff, not just Dr. Conrad Murray."

Murray, a Las Vegas cardiologist who was Michael Jackson's personal physician, hasn't been charged with any crime but he is the target of what police term a manslaughter investigation.

"Someone should pay. Not just someone but all of them should pay that's involved," Jackson said.

I totally agree with Joe Jackson on this one & I don't think Joe meant money. . At least someone in that family is finally standing up and saying it.

I can't beieve people are attacking this 80 year old man. Of course, this man was not a "perfect" father, but Michael Jackson was not a kid. He was a 50 year old man with his own life and personal problems. It's actually amazing that Joe and Katherine Jackson managed to keep all nine of their kids safe and off drugs thoughout the 1970's in Hollywood.

Apparently you missed the headlines. Michael Jackson was ANYTHING but "safe and off drugs."

Apparently you were not around in the 1970's... and was not a fan of the Jackson Family.
Many young stars of the day were totally into drugs. The Jackson kids were not into drugs during those time. When Michael allowed the leeches to take over after Thiller, he became weird and a drug addicted.

Someone did pay, Joe. That someone happened to be Michael, who apparently spent years negotiating more and more lethal forms of drugs in order to shut down his brain at night. Now, what was going on in Michael's head that he felt the need for such extreme measures? Was it the memories of his childhhood?

Has Joe stopped screaming in your ears, Michael?

Everyone criticizing Joe Jackson (who just lost a son) needs to listen to or read the 2001 lecture Michael Jackson gave at Oxford.
Just an excerpt: "I am forced to think of my own father and despite my earlier denials, I am forced to admit that he must have loved me. He did love me, and I know that. There were little things that showed it...."

Please do your own research, not just listen and believe the mainstream media, before criticizing this family

I'm sure he meant to say "Someone should pay.....me"

No kidding, I wish Joe would step down as the "spokesman" for his deceased son.

There is a good reason that Michael , who loved everyone, could not stand this creature of a father. look at the picture. is that not pure sleaze? The slime just drips off of him. I cant stand to look at him. and Michaels mother is so much more elegant of a woman than to have to live with this sleazeball.

Michael has said many times that he loved his father. On his home videos special, he showed a clip of him and Janet giving his father a boat. During his Oxford speech, he mentioned loving his dad. He even told Bashir that he thought his dad was a genius. His father was by his side during his trial.

Joe is no angel but Michael loved him.

Joe said "someone should pay for Michael's death." My question is: How much should they pay, Joe? You know with Joe, everything has monetary value; even the d!eath of his son.

If anyone should pay its Joe Jackson for pushing his son into showbiz when he was too young to know what he was doing.

I was thinking that very thing. He is partly to blame for Micheal's behavior.

I agree, as well as physically and mentally abu.sing his children. Joe Jackson is a creep, he needs to go away.

More details about what happened in the final hours of Michael Jackson's life are surfacing, especially what occurred during the critical 81 minute gap between when Los Angeles police say his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, found Jackson not breathing to when he finally called 911.

A police affadavit says Murray found Jackson not breathing at 11 a.m. the day the singer died. But the 911 call wasn't made until 12:21 p.m. And now, cell phone records show Murray made 47 minutes worth of other calls.

At 11:18 a.m., Murray made a 32-minute call to his office in Las Vegas. At 11:49 a.m., he called another Las Vegas phone number for three minutes. And at 11:51 a.m., he called Houston for 11 minutes. Then at 12:12 p.m., he called a Jackson associate for one minute.

Kauffman reported the police affidavit shows these calls happened while Jackson was unconscious in his bed and Murray was performing CPR.

Legal experts say that, if Murray is charged with a crime, it might not just be just for administering dangerous drugs, but also for not reacting quickly enough to a dying patient.
