the only benefit i see from this is it will cause parents to think about spending extra money on non health items & help create a slimmer & healthier child. hope so!

Let's tax the children on their gum balls.

What dirt bags.
We need to take our votes back from those elected b/c they are acting in their interests (not ours).
People are getting really ticked off & suddenly noticing all of this.

Only a lib would think of this. I don't feel sorry for Chicago, they did it to themselves.

When people eat and drink such stuff, like myself, we should pay a sin tax.

Why? Why should you pay a discriminatory tax on anything? Chicago needs to take a long look at itself and decide where it want s to be in twenty years because they are taxing their citizens out of the "loop". There is a point where government is too big and taking more than a fair share of the people's money. If it is not soda, its cigarettes, or liquor, or luxury, or property, or the street cleaning scam they run, etc.... They never have enough.

That law would never pass downstate.

Candy and soda are two of the major food groups for big-behinded Downstaters!
