Relax, It Can Only Get BetterAfter a busy couple of weeks listening to the health insurance reform debate and the usual news, my husband suggested that we need to take our own advice – eat well, exercise, use our brains and do something good for ourselves and others. So, we went for dinner yesterday evening at our favorite local restaurant, got a good sleep, worked out this morning and went looking for some nice relaxing music.
My husband has a huge music collection and he’s been transferring it to iTunes, filling in the gaps in his collection as he goes. However, we both like to go looking for inspiration by tuning around the dial, just the way we did as kids. Unfortunately, all we get out here in the Boonies are country music stations – a bit too much angst. So, we metaphorically twiddled the dial by going out on the Internet looking for some relaxing music. It’s amazing what you can find, ranging from sites like “Fragrant Heart”, specializing in meditation, to “Poet Seers” and the “Tibetan Singing Bowl”. My husband likes to listen to Gregorian chants when he’s trying to figure something out, as the rhythmic, almost hypnotic plainsong blocks out anything that he doesn’t want to focus on. THE POWER Of COURAGE
Besides loving God, we need courage
Obeying His laws requires bravery.
For the power of sin is always festering
As evil condemns man’s soul to slavery.
God travels with us inside our spirit
Forewarning that which is right or wrong.
Satan tags along tempting our resolve
Spreading his doctrine by video and song.
God promises to defeat our enemies
If we retain faith and observe His rules.
We’ll still face battles to preserve our soul
As we endure the blindness of fools.
All of Gods heroes depend on courage
To overcome the dilemmas of strife.
God wants us to follow in His footsteps
As we practice His majesty of life.
