I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Oooh, boy! I know what Glenn Beck is going to be talking about on his Fox News Comedy Cavalcade today! The Hill reports that a video of White House green jobs adviser Van Jones is rocketing around the internet today, in which Jones, appearing at a lecture at the Berkeley Energy and Resources Collaborative, refers to Republicans -- and himself -- as "assholes."

The incident occurred last February, before Jones joined the administration and at a time when the battle to get the stimulus package passed was ongoing. A questioner asked Jones why it was that the Republicans were so successful at getting measures passed in the Senate without supermajorities, while the Democrats were hamstrung with 58 votes of their own. Jones short answer: "Well...they're assholes." The larger point being: sometimes it takes an asshole to get things done.

[WATCH]

QUESTIONER: When [President George W. Bush] was in office, [Republicans] had a majority; it wasn't 60, it wasn't more than 60, but they pushed through all of these bills," the questioner began. "But when we have, you know, 58, we seem to not be able to move things as progressively as many of us here would want, as Obama wants. I know that he has a strong interest in bipartisanship, but when no Republicans are voting with him, ... how were they Republicans able to push things through when they had less than 60 senators, but somehow we cant?

JONES: Well the answer to that is, they're assholes.

QUESTIONER: I was afraid that was the answer.

JONES: As a technical, political kind of term. And Barack Obama is not an asshole. Now, I will say this: I can be an asshole, and some of us who are not Barack Hussein Obama, are going to have to start getting a little bit uppity.

And look:

Fox News is already totally LOLcatting this! This makes sense. It has everything that Fox could possibly want: Van Jones! Intemperate remarks! Someone besides Dick Cheney swearing! Berkeley! A black person using the word "uppity!" The word "collaborative!"

check out the people in the audience. notice anything about them? like one most are white but also
they look intelligent. honestly, they look intelligent. and the way they respond to van jones comment
on republicans isn't anger and yelling kill the bastards but just a tension released laughter. and of course
the question the women is asking at the beginning is perfect. these are what i think of as the right kind of
people to make up an civilization. sorry republicans but a 73 iq just doesn't really qualify as anything
other then a person that needs continuous aid and support.

Funny, people say that Glenn Beck is disturbed but yet no one wants to debate him or his comments. My opinion is that its because they know he speaks the truth and he has documents to back up everything he says. If its all a lie then go on tv and prove it. I don't take what he says as the truth until I study it for myself and the funny thing is ive never once found it to be a lie. America better open its eyes before its to late and as for the advertisers dropping his show I choose to boycott all of them!!

( In advance, I want to apologize to people that think).

Why would anyone want to debate Beck, after months of watching him Race-baiting, Name Calling and otherwise behaving like a child, on of all places Fox? I can not think of a single Grown-up, that would validate the rantings of someone that ADMITS that he is a clown. The man ADMITS that he shouldn't be taken seriously, but of course there is a certain element of our society that can not recognize foolishness, when it's staring them in the face.

I, simply as a curiosity, would like to know where you 'study' the truth from Glenn Beck and have found him to be truthful. Please, share that with me.

From www.GlennBeck.com: "But at the age of 30, Beck lost his passion for radio - and everything else - as he was consumed by alcoholism and drug addiction. Coming to terms with his past and staying sober shifted his life direction. He found new love (his second wife, Tania) and religion (he was baptized Mormon) and decided he would pursue a career in talk radio." Can't expect much from this person. Glenn who?

Van Jones: Why let the a-holes make you resign? Dumb move!

To Valley gent et al:

You people don't get it, it's not about what he said or signed, it's about competency. This guy like others that have been appointed in the extra organizational vetting of the cabinet posts is there because at his core, he is black, liberal hard left and ivy educated...and that is it. He cannot move us as a nation forward regardless of brilliance if he doesn't take the time to read what he signs...and at the risk of truncating this line of reasoning that would clearly show you (plural) why the czar system is a bad organizational structure/scheme, especially in the hands of the inept and inexperienced...I will stop.

Jones didn't say anything that wasn't true.

It's becoming more and more clear to me that it is NOT acceptable, and is in fact seen as criminal in this country to be black, liberal, and in a position of power.

EXCERPT FROM NOV. 2005 interview in the East Bay Express:
Jones had planned to move to Washington, DC, and had already landed a job and an apartment there. But in jail, he said, "I met all these young radical people of color -- I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of.'" Although he already had a plane ticket, he decided to stay in San Francisco. "I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary." In the months that followed, he let go of any lingering thoughts that he might fit in with the status quo. "I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist." In 1994, the young activists formed a socialist collective, Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM, which held study groups on the theories of Marx and Lenin and dreamed of a multiracial socialist utopia. They protested police brutality and got arrested for crashing through police barricades. In 1996, Jones decided to launch his own operation, which he named the Ella Baker Center after an unsung hero of the civil-rights movement.

If you truly are the former, then you truly are the latter.
The point where the two could be differentiated was passed about 8 years ago.

Van was 100% correct in his statement...Republicans loyalists are irrelevant A holes of the strongest magnitude...compared to what Republican congressional leaders are callling the PRESIDENT...Jones was being actually quite kind. I would have gone further.
