I don't see the problem..b
The 60% of sports writers who don't bet on sports may feel that its a gamble to hope for their jobs being filled by them next week is enough of a gamble for them. The media market for writing & commenting on sports is declining rapidly. Pay cuts may have taken the money that sports writers might have used to cover a bit. The 60% of non-betting sports writers are too broke to bet, despite any scruples about gambling.
Sports reporting has always been a joke; no talent jerk wannabees milking the gravy train. I don't even watch ESPN any more because I'm sick of the soap opera and all off the overblown egos with axes to grind.
