Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge's backpedaling book tour continues!

As we've reported, Ridge's new book, The Test of Our Times: America Under Siege, asserts that Attorney General John Ashcroft and Defense Secretary Donald Rumseld "strongly urged" him to raise the terror alert level -- possibly for political reasons -- just before the 2004 election. Ridge has since backpedaled and contradicted himself about whether the terror alerts might have been politicized.

Bad liar. If you watched him on Hardball, it was almost comical witnessing him trying to make his words (not on the book jacket, but in the book itself) mean something other than what they plainly said.

The tale of two books. Either he meant what he said in the book, or his writing was so poor, that he wrote one thing, but meant something else.

Ridge keeps saying that his co-criminals would never use the terror system for politics, and risk the safety of Americans.

That's absurd, because they RAISED the alert for political purposes which doesn't endanger anyone!

Telling people to be scared when there's no threat isn't risking their well being.

It's a perfect crime, as it has no victims, olny principle.

Ridge's backpedaling is a testament to his integrity, I can only assume he failed the test.

Why even bother to read the book, he says that what he wrote is not what he meant, err or what is sounds like? But he stands by every bit of it, "it" being everything he wrote or what he meant, but didn't mean.
