Roll Call:

Sen. How many other two-faced people are going to come out against the Public Option? We need the Public Option and we expect that Democrats will support it for all of us. I do not have anything good to say for someone who did support the Public Option and then changes her mind. Very bad. Very very bad.

Vote this blue dog democrat out. She's a prostitute for the insurance companies. Money is more important to her than the will of the people. Vote her out.

What do we need healthcare?. All good democrats believe in evolution. Those of us that survive will be stronger. Plus less people to feed.

Darwinism at work

Actually, less mouths to feed would be better for the planet than all the Global warming nonsense put together.

Wrong decision, Blanche. You just hurt your chances for reelection, not helped.

Of course there is still a chance to change your mind and do the right thing.

Amazing! Do the right thing. Get reelected. Win-win.

I just wrote to Senator Lincoln; and I wrote to President Obama and Olympia Snowe to ask them to keep the public option on the table. It's time we spoke up.

And, please, I wish all of those who say "we don't want this" or "the American People don't want this" would stop speaking for me. I can speak for myself (and I just did). Thank you.

don't fret, the public option be coming. no stopping it now.
Reconciliation. Strong public option, strip Repub amendments, remove mandates.
That's why the insurance shills/trolls are getting crazier. It's unstoppable.

I just e-mailed her and said I would send financial contribution to whoever runs against her in the primary for her seat if she continues to speak against the public option. I can't vote for/against her but I can contribute to an opponent.

Article in today's local paper: HEALTH CARE PREMIUMS RISE QUICKLY. According to the article, in California the average premium is $13,400 which is 9% higher than in 2007 and 3X the rate of inflation. Next year it is expected to increase by double digits.

PEOPLE WHO THINK they like their present insurance policies be prepared to change your mind. If the insurance companies win this battle against a public policy your premiums will be so high and your benefits so low, the government will have to shell out more money (it looks like happily) to make the insurance companies happy, small and large businesses won't be asking but telling you that you will have to pay a larger share or maybe all of the premium because business can't afford it anymore.

Much of this is already happening. If I didn't have part of my insurance paid by my imployer there is no way I could afford to pay for insurance. I need a roof over my head, food, and other necessities which is outrageously priced as well. And I have already had MAJOR changes in the policy since last year which is costing me more.

You guys should get used to headlines such as this. This is a sign of things to come. The repub party of "no" and the dem party of "blame everybody else" will be hopping off their perspective band wagons if it's going to effect their re-election in any way. Forget party affiliations it's every man/woman for themselves. I voted for change. Instead ,a new group of lobbyists and interest groups moved into the White House.

Thank You Senator Blanche for representing the views of your constituants. Town halls and polls in Arkansas show that voter's there are opposed to government run health care, bigger government and higher deficits. Your first allegiance is to your constituants not to a political party affiliation.

Are the voters of Arkansas also opposed to Medicare and Social Security? Republicans fought these programs as well. Although they are not perfect and have become underfunded as people live longer, they are still the best solutions to the problems involved.

No but it doesn't take too much brain power to figure out that Medicare/Medicaid will go bust in a few years. Why don't they clean up those programs in place now and prove how they can run a program with quality and one that will be cost neutral. Prove It !! Show us it can be done !!

The worst part of her statement is the lie.....

She claims it is a handout.
If you choose Public Option you must pay the monthly premiums as you would any other insurance option you choose.

It's all the garbage that spews from their mouths that annoys me....
Does she not understand her own legislation or.....
Can she only say what the insurance corporations pay her to say..........?

In that case, her constituents in Arkansas may want to take another look at her competency. Given he stance re/ the public option, I am sure that she is going to be involved in a tough primary election.

If an infant is born to poor parents, would we be more ethical to give medicine to that child so he or she does not die prematurely of preventable diseases, or would we be more ethical if we let the child die screaming in his or her parent's arms so we can keep more of our money?

Or, let's say someone who worked for Enron, and now is penniless, contracted bone cancer. I've been asked to discuss whether we are more ethical if we provide such people medicine that lessens their pain. Or would we be more ethical to let them scream through the night in unbearable agony so we can pay lower taxes?

I can't believe I am standing today in a Christian church defending the proposition that we should lessen the suffering of those who cannot afford health care in an economic system that often treats the poor as prey for the rich. I cannot believe there are Christians around this nation who are shouting that message down and waving guns in the air because they don't want to hear it. But I learned along time ago that churches are strange places; charity is fine, but speaking of justice is heresy in many churches.

The answer might be simpler than you think.
Justice implicitly questions and challenges power.
Charity does not deal with or challenge power.
An organized religion with dogma, structure and hierarchy implicitly depends on power for maintenance of authority. It will condone charity, but fear justice for loss of power and authority.

Good point. In other words, organized churches become whores to political power.

Arrecho ... Your arguements are ridiculus !! No one wants to see any one especially a child go without health care. We have existing state and federal health care programs for children. People simply do not want obamacare to fix the health care problems. Nor do they believe any government program can be deficit neutral. Why can't they start with fixing the problems in the existing programs (Medicare/Medicaid, Indian Health Services,VA Care) expand them, clean up the waste and abuse. There are many changes that can be made to the existing systems without destroying and busting the health care we have now. Show us it can be done.Prove It !!

I'm with you re/ Indian Health Services. You are aware that the US government continues to withhold huge amounts of money from Native Americans and that John McCain is head of the BIA committee.

Is concern for the poor to be simply a private matter to be handled by charity, or does it have anything to do with politics or government? The Bible calls upon the rulers to create a just society. In a democracy, we are the rulers. We have the power to make the rules. The actions of the nation are extensions of our own actions. By our active participation or passive consent we share responsibility for what our nation does in our name. We have inherited a system that works efficiently to produce tremendous wealth, but fails to distribute that wealth equitably. It neglects the poor and it corrupts the rich. On both counts it destroys community. A decent life for all is a matter of simple justice, not charity! There are remedies that will make the system work better in the interests of all the people, but it takes active political involvement to bring them about.
