Don Imus

Don Imus will be simulcasting his radio program from 6-9AM on Fox Business Network starting October 5, the network announced Thursday.

The move had been expected, as reports that Imus was in talks with Fox Business circulated in August, and he left his current TV partner, RFD-TV, last week. The New York Times speculated last month that Imus' simulcast could be a turning point for the fledgling network.

"I love FOX," Imus said in the announcement. "Roger Ailes is the preeminent genius of American Broadcasting. Who wouldn't want to do this?"

"We're excited to welcome a renowned broadcaster like Don Imus to the FOX Business team," Executive Vice President Kevin Magee said. "His 40 years of on-air experience combined with his superb interviewing skills and capitalist sensibilities will be a great addition to our lineup."

"Money for Breakfast," which is hosted by Alexis Glick and currently airs from 6-9AM on Fox Business Network, will air its last show on October 2. Glick will remain as the host of "Opening Bell" at 9AM and as Vice President for Business News at the network.

When he was on NYC's WFAN he always touted the sports guys who followed, when he moved to WABC he did the same with the hate radio guys who followed although it did seem over the top, the adoration of Rush I can understand on a purely radio basis, but the loons that follow, jeeze, Imus lauds Sean Hannity and Mark Levin daily. Levin, in particular, is dangerous, he likes to take the Obamas' speeches and abridge them and play them for his audience with his running commentary. Mark Levin on the Prez address at the UN - apologize, apologize, hate America, etc; Tom Friedman this morning I think nailed the same address with (paraphrased) "give us some love but show us the money."

Oddly, he, Imus, rarely says much about Joe Scarborough who follows him in NYC and is the only sane one in the crowd, speaking from real experience in govenrment.

Don. Don. Don. I was your biggest fan. I was heartbroken when you left the air. Morning Joe drives me crazy sometimes, but it has become a decent show. Mika and Barnacle save it. I will definitely tune back to you- but I am petrified that you have thrown your lot in with those right wing crazies to save your career. I know you were never liberal and of course that's not the issue. Your show presented many sides and you had great interviews. But the minute you start touting Sarah Palin or talking about President Obama's birth certificate, I will change the channel on you faster than you can blink an eye. Roger Ailes is a "genuis?" That's not exactly what you've said before....I know that if you sell out to FOX it's more for the ranch than it is for you- but keep your integrity intact too, please. Thank you.

WHAT A SURPRISE! (NOT!). Members of the Imus show (especially Bernie) have been auditioning for FOX for over a year. Imus allows Bernie to go on and on each day in support of every right-wing nut out there; he never interjects anymore as he used to in the past...rather, he just agrees with him. I'm sure they all knew that their RFD show had a shelf life, or maybe Bernie and the others assume that Imus himself has one, so they needed to get on FOX FAST and hopefully latch onto another right-wing program when the curtain finally falls on the Imus show.

And another racist proudly walks into the Fox news tent into an eager awaiting reception.

Pat Buchanan's most recent postings which are straining his MSNBC relationship may also soon free him up to join the Fox super racist friends club.

Imus looks like a cartoon character. Who exactly dresses like that?

Bigots of a feather; Fox News together. Imus will fit in well.

Let's sing together now -- "How low can you go?" It could be his new theme song. I listened on and off for years until the insult to the womans basketball team...that was a look into his mind that appalled me and was the last straw. Enough cliques for now ---

Imus could have driven the basketball team into a lake and left for eight hours.

Surely you have something better than that small, mean-spirited remark.

I have to admit Imus has always been a guilty pleasure for me who that I've listened to and watched for over 30 years. I could never stand McGurk, (Archie Bunker without the charm or compassion), but despite his frequently bigoted humor, you always had the sense that it was done without genuine malice. However, since his switch to WABC, his show has become a Fox News, right-wing cheering section. Glenn Beck, Mark Levine, Sean Hannity, and that entire gang of crazies have received the Imus imprimatur. While he may jokingly call them names....he waxes poetic about how smart and wonderful the are. Sorry...I just couldn't take it anymore...I gave up on his show months ago.
