Rumors that incumbent Democratic Senator Michael Bennet may face a primary challenge from former Speaker of the Colorado House Andrew Romanoff are now arousing commentary on a national level. Referencing yesterday's David Sirota blog on the Huffington Post, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow framed the potential primary as part of a larger trend in which the liberal wing of the Democratic Party is no longer being "used as a doormat."
