Well, yes Gaddafi is difficult to listen to, if one only hears what he is saying and takes literally what he says on a number of subjects, including Switzerland. However, if you can listen beyond the actual points made by him, and see resemblances elsewhere, it becomes hilariously to the point. The things he says about Switzerland are very similar to what the muslim world says about Israel, for example. He also said in an interview that he had known jews, and he saw no problem with either jews or Israelis. He knows jews as traders who were respected and could be trusted. About muslims attacking other muslims, he said, matter of factly, well, if they want to kill each other we should let them do it. Why does Gaddafi live in a tent? He says he is not above any other person, but on the other hand does not have to demonstrate his raison d'etre by living in a palace. I think Gaddafi is far from crazy and he is refreshing. When he held this long rambling speech he did nothing more, or less, than demonstrating what the UN is really all about. And when he threw those pieces of paper behind his back, he was clearly demonstrating that UN members do not take their own resolutions seriously. No, Gaddafi is fun. Crazies always think it is the others who are nuts. And Moammar gave a clear demonstration of that.

I understand that the UN is a place for all world nations to put forth their points of view but is it too much to expect that the UN tell its member nations to send leaders who have shown basic mental facets like a sane mind. And cant the UN enforce rules like any place else? I mean the Libyan leader talked for 90 mins, pure gibberish. Dont these talks have time limits? Dont they have buzzers? The Iranian "president" seems to go always diving into the kook end and denies the holocaust and sets it up everytime to divert from the main issues facing Iran and we have the predictable walkout by the western bloc. is it too much to expect for the UN chief to say that the Iranians must talk sensibly or else not talk at all. All these protests at the G-20, everytime everywhere­...what is the motive and what do they serve? Are the bankers going to behave any differently until they are considered "too big to fail"? The UN may be doing it's part in dispersing humanitarian aid and so but politically the UN is a defunct body that the powers to be just dont consider as important. All these ceremonial talks every September really mean zilch unless the UN is considered an authority for mediating international politics.

Gaddafi almost seemed to be normalizing a couple years ago...gues­s it was a blip of sanity..no­w gone with the wind. I would have given him my support had his reason been that it is a center for money laundering. And indeed I hope that the next time there is a world war, it is annexed by one or more of it neighbors. Here is one country whose main source of revenues is in hiding stolen money, unpaid taxes, drug money and what not.

This is because his son and daughter-in-law were arrested in Geneva for abusing their domestic servants.
The were living in a hotel and kept these two women in bondage for housekeeping, baby sitting and were not allowed to move freely. I.e. locked up. In addition they were physically abused.

Of course this is against Swiss law. You simply do not treat people like that. The authorities stepped in and and did not back down and arrested his son.

So Qaddafi is still mad.
