Susan Boyle Pre-Orders Top Whitney Houston's Album On Amazon

The Scottish star's debut album, I Dreamed A Dream, has sensationally topped the online-retail charts, quite a feat considering her record is not even being released until Nov. 24.

Thousands of eager fans have already pre-ordered the record on Amazon.com, just days after the release was announced. That's resulted in Boyle's climbing to the top of the charts, beating heavy hitters Whitney Houston and the Beatles to the top spot.

This woman is full of surprises. I thought she'd go all Andrew Lloyd Weberish, but if this cut is any indication of her range, I can't wait to listen to that album.

Susan Boyle has an average voice. Why is she so celebrated, just because she's middle aged and unattractive?

Whitney has a lot of showing and proving to do. She was one of the greats, we'll see if she still has it.

We live in a fast paced world....so it is really difficult to stay on top for very long unless you are a proven entity like The Beatles.

one might take issue with 'proven entity' like the beatles. they did not tour for the last major portion of their career.

that was a convergence... dont get me wrong, i like the beatles, but circumstances made their meteoric rise. the rise was the 'proof'. thats sizzle not steak.

Not an incredible feat at all. Whitney Houston has lost her voice recently at shows and it isn't as strong or impressive as it used to be. Between the drama in her life and the drugs, she would be unsuccessful anyway.

I'm not going to waste my money by buy either of them.

Really? They seem pretty equal in the looks department. Whitney appears to be post-crack binging - on food. Getting a little jowly now that the pipe has been put away - for the time being.

Houston's gained weight. You can see it in her shape and face and that's terrific. She looks healthy and it shows she means what she says about getting off crack etc. Good for her!
