Jon Gosselin: I Despise Kate, She Abused Me

NEW YORK — Jon Gosselin says he despises his estranged wife Kate, and believes she took his wedding ring. The reality TV star told ABC News' Chris Cuomo on "Good Morning America" that he set down his ring one day and it vanished. He says no one else could have taken it. He also accuses Kate of verbally abusing him and beating him down during their marriage.

Jon's remarks came from his first TV interview since divorce papers were filed in June. Kate has made a number of her own interview appearances in recent weeks.

The Gosselins continue to co-star on TLC's hit reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which documents the challenges of raising their twins and sextuplets.

A longer version of Jon's interview airs tonight on ABC's "Primetime: Family Secrets."

This couple's example is the reason why waiting to have kids until you've been together for a while is a good idea. If you and your partner cannot work together as a team and respect and care for each other, then you aren't going to be good parents.

Good parents would keep details of the divorce private and keep from insulting each other where the kids could find out about it.

As a child of divorce, I can say without hesitation that no matter how "mean" she was to him, I despise ANY parent who puts their hate for the ex over their love for their child/children. Anyone with kids has no business making such statements, ESPECIALLY to the media!

There is a tab at the top of my page that clearly says "Entertainment." To most people I know, the word "entertainment" is not synonymous with "news." Clearly there is more to HP than "hard news" or they would not bother giving us options for entertainment, style, or comedy. Jon & Kate are no more news than what Michelle Obama is wearing to dinner. I don't see anyone claiming this was supposed to be news. It's just a story..... And if you don't want to read stories about actors or musicians or the latest runway fashions, you simply don't read them.

While it takes two to tango, I would have to say from watching the program several times, that Kate is a control freak. Jon, it seemed, rather than the rock the boat, went along with her program. My advice to his ex-wife is to LIGHTEN UP. Then again after carrying, birthing and raising sextuplets this may be better said that done, huh?

Lighten up, huh? She did not have just 8 kids, but 9 if you count Jon, and I do. If the show was in any way a true example of what their domestic life was like, then he was about useless. In order to keep the household running in a less-than-chaotic manner, it had to be run efficiently. No matter what was going on, Jon was always just standing around looking lost--never stepping up to the plate unless being told what to do. I would imagine that Kate was overwhelmed constantly and w/o much help from her husband. If I were a prospective employer for Jon, I'd sure not hire him based on what I saw on the show.

I've only seen 2 episodes of this silly program, and in my poorly informed opinion the wife came across as the mature adult in the room, the one who realizes that raising 8 children requires discipline and self discipline. If she treated her husband like one of the children, it is because in most instances he behaved like one. Being the gather of eight at his age might not have been his life dream, but it certainly is his responsibility. yet he seemed to hanker for his lost freedom, his bachelors' days, with no regard for the fact that his wife had to pick up the slack and carry a double load of responsibility.

It's a shame she decided it was better to go through fertility treatments again and subsequently birth 6 children at once rather than adopt the baby who was available and waiting for a home. I understand the desire to experience pregnancy, but when she'd already had twins. Choosing more fertility treatments, choosing to carry 6 fetuses (and put them on Medicaid) is selfish--p­articularl­y when they were given the option of adopting.

Neither one of these people seem to have figured out what it means to be a parent.

I've never seen the show, but I am glad they didn't adopt. They both seem too immature and stupid in the aftermath of their marriage to have ever had the empathy and caring that it takes to adopt a child.

I pity their children.
