What's Your Reaction?

Keith Olbermann named conservative Fox News host Sean Hannity tonight's "Worst Person in the World" for Hannity's recent exercise in gross hypocrisy regarding how much attention a politician's graduate school thesis should receive during a campaign.

Michelle Bachmann scored the silver after she got some tax figures seriously wrong in order to prove that our current system is tantamount to "slavery." Original Obama "birther" Orly Tates took the bronze for producing yet another birth certificate of President Obama proving he's actually from Kenya. This time it's for real, she says.

A Right-Wing Republican’s Night-time Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray to God my soul to keep
I voted for Bush the Texacutioner
Who put more people to death than an executioner

The highest execution rate of any governor in history
How he was elected president is still a mystery
The biggest serial killer since Timothy McVeigh,
mocks Karla's pleas for clemency during her final days

I hold stoutly to my world view
Despite being contradicted by what is proven true
I believe the earth to be only 4000 years old
“Intelligent” design is the view I hold

Even though evolution explains how life changed and adapted
verified by countless experiments not retracted
the scientific facts should be stricken as inadmissible
teaching creationism to our children is permissible

Take some parts literally, others out of place
And I can use the Bible to judge the whole human race
Pat Robertson said 9/11 was a punishment from God
That innocents died instead of him he didn’t find odd

For lifestyles of feminism, liberalism, and being gay
Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson said over 3,000 people died that day
That God will punish them for their remark
Pride has hidden from a judgmental heart

..poem continued in next post

A Right-Wing Republican's Night-time Prayer continued

“After the last tree standing is felled”
“Christ will come back” I heard James Watt tell
you see evangelicals don’t care about generations
because they won’t have to be here to face elimination

“compassionate” conservatives fantasize about journeying through the air
As Left Behind: The Series plays out below everywhere
While pollution they caused brings about ecological collapse
It doesn’t bother them that people will die perhaps

Alright, I got it. Hannity is neither fair nor balanced. But if Olbermann doesn't jump on Hillary's thesis, or Obama's relationships with the radical left, doesn't that make HIM a hyporcite as well?

President Obama's supposed "relationships" with the radical left have proven to be little more than being in the same place at the same time and through mutual support of traditional progressive causes any politician running as a Democrat must support if they want to get elected. If anything, Barack Obama has proven himself to be a moderate, just like Bill Clinton, who gave us DODT, rubber stamped Republican deregulation of the lending industry and signed DOMA and NAFTA. After all, despite the propaganda to the contrary, Justice Sotomayor's record shows her to be more right leaning than the Justice she replaced. If Barack Obama were really a patron of the radical left, we'd have already seen real change in DC and he'd be much more popular with true progressive liberals. These references to long ago refuted "radical left associations" are as tiresome as they are untrue.

You make some good points about Clinton and SotomayorTommyGuns, but that isn't what I was talking about. I'm not satisfied that the relationships with the radical left were ever refuted. If there is NOT a story there, we haven't seen honest journalism reporting that. Like I said, Sean Hannity is the only person to "pounce" on the Reverand Wright story, and cooperation or mutual support of liberal causes with former Underground Weatherman. He will only spin that story to the benefit of the right wing. The Keith Olbermann types (on MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC) have completely ignored it which makes them every bit as hypocritical as Sean Hannity.

What Hannity flim flammery illustrates is that if one stays around long enough one almost becomes relevant. Since conservatives seized power with Ronny Raygun thirty years ago, they can now truly call themselves conservatives: they want to preserve the winning formula (more and more money for rich white guys, and all those pesky women and minorities to the back of the bus again - better yet, make them push the bus).

It really is time to pull the plug on Fox, and CNN, MSNBC, and all the other opinion-grinders posing as journalists. I like Olberman, and Maddow, and even the blustery Ed now and then, but they are not presenting much more news than their rivals, and most of what they do present is a rebuttal to Fox. That has to be tough, eh?

I tend to agree with the polarization of the pundit media but, I think Rachel Maddow stands out from that crowd. She doesn't seem as reactionary as some when it comes to name calling and, the show does present more than the tunnel vision topic of the day. Recently she has been calling out the "Bluedogs" or more accurately "Republicans posing as Democrats" as often as the "Wingnut right". She has also not let go the fact that we are still have soldiers dying and are spending ridiculous sums of money on two wars that have no foreseeable end or attainable goals.

The only depressing thing is that Olbermann doesn't whomp everybody at Fox each and every day.

Do you understand what that says about the rage and/or insanity bottled up inside so many Americans, that Fox has so many viewers?

Assuming, of course, that Fox doesn't employ the expediency of just BUYING their ratings. lolll...but Fox is certainly too honest to defraud everybody in America...

Did his viewer turn you on to this story, or did he have to do it himself?

Anyone who wants public assistance for the poor,
health care insurance that is affordable, votes for the
first black President, doesn't believe the most current
conspiracy theory, and doesn't think a Czar is a Russian
threat in America, is considered a nut case from the "left".
I like the fact Keith Olberman challenges people. He calls
them on far-out ideas. Love those comments at the end
of the show too.

Are you kidding me? If we didn't have the conservative right out there, Olbermann wouldn't even have a job! He is as far to the crazy left, and the ones he points his boney fingers at are to the right.

I'd like to see bloggers and the media refer to Fox as Rupert Murdoch"s Fox News. (Also, Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal, etc.)

Why? Because Murdoch calls all the shots. His media empire is his and his alone. He alone is solely responsible for content in the final analysis. I can't think of another media operation of any consequence that fits that particular bill.

And if you want, you can tag it Rupert Murdoch"s Sean Hannity, Rupert Murdoch's Glenn Beck, etc. But that's up to you, of course.

Pin the tail on the donkey, you know.

You are on to something. From now on I will refer to FOX NEWS as RUPERT MURDOCH'S FOX NEWS.

Rupert Murdoch is really getting off the hook by promoting these nutjobs and standing at a distance as if it is being done entirely by these underlings. Let's force him to take responsibility for the pile of crap that is consistently broadcasted over RUPERT MURDOCH'S FOX NEWS.

I've had the same thought.
Fox is likely what Rupert wants it to be. He lets the clowns get the attention and the heat while he sits up top pulling the strings, doing whatever it is he's trying to do.
What is it he's trying to do?

Here is a more complete picture of what he is trying to do:

btw I'm glad someone finally is starting to call it what it is - The World according to Rupert Murdoch.

I just "love" (snarl, snarl) to listen to Hannity on my way home from work. It provides me with an hour of comedy. And when those women call in to praise him for his great work and smart thinking, oh my gosh! I could just puke! How stupid are we in America to think he is so good....He's an entertainer, ladies!!! An entertainer and he is smirking to his studio staff as you praise him. I bet he is sitting there just taking it all in...how he does so much good for America! I can't stand it! What good is he doing for America when he shows no respect to the highest office in America! Or better yet demonizes the office of the President! I truly, truly DO NOT REMEMBER ANYTHING LIKE THIS EVER HAPPENING IN THE PAST TO ANY OTHER PRESIDENT! How awful to say what he says about our President. I am proud to be an American and I am proud to say that President Barack Obama is our leader! NOT HANNITY! NOT BECK! & eeck! MOST CERTAINLY NOT NOT RUSH LIMBERGER!!!!
