KABUL: A suicide car bomb outside a NATO military base at Kabul's main airport killed at least three civilians on Tuesday, in the worst attack on the Afghanistan capital since last month's presidential election, Reuters reported.
Six people have also been wounded, the BBC reports, after witnesses saw a four-wheel drive vehicle ram the main gate of the airport's military base and explode.
Nato-led forces have a base at the airport, which is used by civilian and military aircraft, the BBC said.
The blast occurred as votes from the election, that has come under fire for fraud, were being counted. The Taliban had vowed to disrupt it with bombings and intimidation, Bloomberg reported.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack, the Associated Press reported.
