ALBANY - Baseball great Darryl Strawberry had state troopers watching over him as he recuperated from cancer surgery in 1998, it was revealed Tuesday.
Strawberry's unusual police protection came courtesy of Daniel Wiese, the politically connected head of former Gov. Pataki's security detail who was friends with the ex-Mets and Yankees slugger, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said.
