Where is Helen Shiller? That's what people in Uptown have been asking for weeks, demanding answers and help from the 46th Ward alderman. As their concerns grow over violence on the streets, CBS 2's Jim Williams tracked her down.

There is a perception that Helen really supports the poor. To an extent that's right. She talks a great game and gets people to vote for her. However, when you take a look at what she has done over the years, all she has done is make sure she gets re-elected. People who do just the tiniest bit of reading about what she has actually done will figure this out. However, those who don't really just rely on looking around their neighborhood and listening to what Helen says. And these people vote for her. She likes to call herself independent, and she is. It's all about Helen. And the unmade bed look really needs to go.

Working behind the scenes with CPD... Translation - she is tooling around with her little police detail that the city pays for and going to various merchants and store owners and yelling at them. No joke. This is her idea of community involvement. And then the poor cops have to apologize to the flustered store owner for her rants. I saw it happen more than once.
