Get rid of the wacko neo-con war-mongers in the WH trying to incite violence in every nook and cranny of the planet, and lo and behold, there's not quite the rampant enthusiasm for terrorism there used to be. Fancy that.

This is the downside to their "blow themselves up" strategy. You tend to run out of troops and scare the others.

Question: How does OBL get his supplies for Dialysis without attracting attention? It should be possble to trace this and figure out where he hiding. There can't be that many people in Pakistan or Afganistan having dialysis supplies shipped in. It's expensive and complicated.

So AQ has about 200 operatives that matter...
and we need to spend how much in national treasure and lives to get these guys? And why isn't this something that is better handled by international policing than with armies of 120k with no boots on the ground in most of the countries that shelter AQ?

A one legged man and a guy that can't live without dialysis and we can't catch him. If you listen to the comedy of errors that led to Tora Bora and his escape we look, to all the world, like an old Keystone Cops reel... for crying out loud....

I think Al Zawahiri got that dent in his head from repeatedly banging it on bin Ladens belt buckle.... he looks like it in the pic...

Come on, we didn't want to catch him at Tora Bora. Catching him would have defeated the entire purpose.

Not surprising. Joe Wilson's outburst has had an adverse affect on all GOP groups.

Someone said earlier this has nothing to do with obama. I totally disagree, if you've been paying attention it is obvious that islamic terrorist rhetoric has reduced dramatically since obamas speech in egypt, his continuous outreach to the muslim world by dropping the "war on terror" slogan, and his constantly reiterating how islam is one of the greatest religions in the world . In fact, according to several analysis this contributed to the iranian uproar after the elections and also the videos released by alqaeda condenming obama. This is because he IS winning hearts and minds and reducing their recruitment pool.

The average muslims in my neighbourhood were very very sympathetic to alqaeda but now they just seem to be concerned about "why israel is so hardened towards a palestinian state".
This is HUGE improvement and i believe the administration should continue this way. We might not agree with them but it is the wise thing to do. Something george bush never had an idea about.

Good points... I think that GWB did nothing to win hearts and minds... They kicked the beehive and dared anyone to say anything about... and got a huge AQ and insurgent problem for their efforts... not too bright...
Obama's diplomacy and grace have been a major help to the US image and could very well negatively influence radical Jihadist recruiting...

Looked to me like some of the anti-health care reform activists were ready to join.
Obviously, AQaida is looking in the wrong places.

Al kaidy finds it hard to recruit, eh? Can't UBL do so from his grave, where he's been lying for 6+ years?

The war in Afghanistan against Al-Qaeda is not vengeance. It is punishment.

Instability anywhere is instability everywhere.

SACRIFICE,TRANSFORMATION,AND UNRESTRICTED WARFARE

The Japanese hadn't lost a war since 1598
Each man carried 400 rounds of ammunition
(twice as many as an American infantryman)
With five days rations and fearless determination.

The men in the badly wrapped brown uniforms
Since their early childhood had been taught
That to die for the emperor and one's country
Was the greatest of all glories to be sought.

Moreover, the hardware backing them was awesome
As sharpshooters they were accurate up to a thousand yards and more.
Their ships were faster, their guns bigger, Their torpedoes better
And their planes matchless in quality, aerobatics and score.

Only by sacrifice, transformation, and unrestricted warfare
Was America able to overcome and prevail.
Again America must stand firm to survive
As we face a new monster from Hell.

Do you see his call to abandon American principles in the face of a determined adversary? This is the heart of the GOP perspective. When the going gets tough, the GOP give up on ethics and principles because they are afraid. Fear mongering.
This is nothing more than fear mongering.

if you shoot back at those shooting you long enough and shoot enough of them in the process,

sooner or later those shooting at you will get tired of being shot at and shot.

I suppose we sd. have sent a letter to the middle-east eight years ago?

What a load of bs.... as if AQ represent a thousandth or a ten thousandth of the threat that Japan and Germany did.... this isn't poetry, its incitement and its crap. Straight from the 2003 GOP playbook... nonsense. pure nonsense.

In a way that America's right wing will never understand, getting out of Iraq is hurting Al Qaeda more than trying to kill them when they move to Iraq to fight our troops.
