Jay-Z Closes MTV Awards With Song For New York, Beyonce Does 'Single Ladies' (VIDEO)

Jay-Z closed the MTV Video Music Awards with a song for New York Sunday night. Alicia Keys joined him for the performance of 'Empire State Of Mind' on stage at Radio City Music Hall for the show's climactic end

Cheering and singing along the most enthusiastically from the audience was wife Beyonce, whose award craziness was already behind her. She also performed live Sunday night, doing her signature moves to "Single Ladies" onstage, in stiletto slingbacks no less (scroll down to watch).

Jay missed his wife's performance though, as his involved an elaborate entrance that started with him driving up the streets of Manhattan in his Maybach minutes before he went on. Just Friday he headlined a 9/11 concert at Madison Square Garden and Saturday night he was in Manchester, England with Coldplay.

Watching Beyonce reminded me of a sexercise video. Mostly jazzercise and a lot to much spreading and bumping and no one getting off except Kayne.

I'm amazed at some of the snarky comments, maybe it's my age (old), but I thought Beyonce was sexy and hot, hot, hot and I thought the JayZ and Alicia Keyes duo was creative, beautifully arranged and compelling music. I don't like all art but I always appreciate and respect artist for putting it all out there!
