Horray for Michigan and her Governor! This is the first instance of retooling that I've heard of (but I've probably missed some). Sounds good, from what I read in the article.

Good. Rooftop PV Solar is the cheapest electricity you can buy: 3 cents per KWH. Add BioChar of wastes and sewage and the world can have all the fuel and energy we need, cleanly, cheaper, forever.

No more energy wars.

See my profile for proof.

Climate change or not, there are a thousand good reasons to switch to rooftop waste solar an biochar.

See my profile for details and links.

Climate is Chaotic, with multiple positive feedback loops. Climate "switches" from one pattern to another. We are in the Ice age Pattern of 100kYears of ice, alternating with 10k years of warm.

Humans have helped change the CO2 levels in the air to above the levels ever seen in this ice age pattern, to the CO2 levels Earth had 3 million years ago in the Warm Climate Pattern.

We can't predict precisely when the climate will switch, but can predict that changing an important input variable like CO2 will increase the probability of a Climate Switch.

We also cannot predict to what pattern the Climate will switch. It might switch into the ice phase of the current Ice age pattern, or into the Warm pattern from 3 million years ago, or to some pattern completely unforeseen.

Climate Switching kills off lots of life. So it is wise to minimize practice3s that increase the likelihood of a Climate Switch.

Not in Pennsy....would cost us between $40,000 to $50,000 to install. And that is only on the portion of the roof that faces south.

Pen is not a great sunny state anyway. Large rooftop are getting 2$ per peak watt installed in CA. Go to this company: 1.55 per peak watt panels! retail!

Big expense to combat a non-existent problem, it would seem.

1) Big new oil fields and natural gas fields discovered recently.
2) Global warming is religious dogma, not fact.

"Anthony Watts's Watts Up With That blog (see the blog posting on September 4) created an animated graphic showing the DMI's temperature changes over the past 50 years. Far from confirming the hypothetical upward spurt claimed by the Hockey Team's computer, the most remarkable feature of the actual record is that it shows no significant change whatever.

The unshakeable faith in computer models shown by the scientists who programme them would be the envy of any religious sect in the world. "

1. Who cares if new oil and gas has been discovered. Scarcity is not the only problem. Pollution is the main problem.
2. Human-caused climate change has been accepted as a fact by the majority of the world's scientists. There is nothing religious and nothing dogmatic about it. Just look at the data.
3. Climate change is not the only effect of fossil fuel burning. Heavy pollution that poisons people, animals, water and land is taking a huge toll on our health.
4. If we use locally produced renewable energy, we won't have to depend on any other country for energy.
