Bachmann Defends Joe Wilson: He "Spoke Truth" (VIDEO)

In an appearance on Newsmax TV last Friday, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) expressed support for Rep. Joe Wilson in his "outburst" during President Obama's health care address to Congress. "Joe Wilson spoke the truth on the floor of the House," Bachmann said.

Democrats and Republicans alike have agreed that Wilson's actions were inappropriate.

In the context of the larger health care debate, Bachmann continued, "People can buy their own health insurance if government gets out of the way."

How ridiculous is that? As if a government option was going to PROHIBIT anyone from buying the more expensive private health insurance. Of course, meaningful competition from a government plan might lead many to CHOOSE (just thought I'd highlight the CHOICE aspect) the gov plan over paying too much and not getting enough for it.

AND that may drive prices down through competition, but I disagree with labeling CHOICE as being "forced out" of private coverage.

Aren't these folks free-market conservatives, as well as paranoid and convinced that they are Christians? Don't they know that more competition is GOOD, and will drive prices DOWN?

OR... are they in thrall to the lobbyists, who know that a viable government option means less profits in the private sector?

What planet is she from, I think she is an illegal alien. What are her ideas about how to fix our healthcare problem? The answer is none. I find it hard to believe that Joe Wilson is (1) college educated and (2) not taking reality-bending drugs like cretin Rush Limbaugh.
