Frank Page

U.S. News & World Report:

Of the 25 members on President Obama's Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, former Southern Baptist Convention President Frank Page is easily the most conservative. Seven months after being named to the council, Page talks about his experience so far, from the shock of being invited to join in the first place and his frequent chats with White House officials to frustrations with the council's limited policy role that have him pondering resignation.

Faith and Gov led to the deaths of, by some estimates, over a million innocent Iraqi and Afghani civilians....Bush told the Quakers that "God" spoke to him... Rumsfelds daily briefings included a biblical quote... Blackwater was/is pushing Faith as it kills, the Army is doing the same.
It all means that something is going very wrong - Americans are killing in the name of God. Faith has blown its chance, the body count for those who push their God is far too high and has been for centuries. Time for cooler heads to prevail.

If he leaves, good riddance. And don't replace him.

Uh, sir, your job is to advise about faith? Why should government policy have anything to do with faith? This whole faith-based deal is a scam for getting tax $$ into churches and I object to that seriously. For your church or any other to want policy based on your tenets and doctrines is equally objectionable. I think you should be engaged in good works, like healthcare for all, and saving people's souls, not government.

You've convinced us.

Go home, even if you have to take a socialist highway.

Try talking some sense into the religious freaks out there.

Teach them evolution, maybe?

Maybe you can help with info on how to tax the religious institutions. Taxation is on the way, make no mistake about it.

I have no problem with Frank Page, and his feelings that he hasn't been able to have enough input to Obama. But what really chaps me is there is a poll on the originating website where they asked if the readers thought that providing health care was a moral imperative (or some such). 57% said NO! What Jesus do these people worship? I don't consider myself that great a Christian, mainly because I am not as selfless as I think Jesus would want me to be. But that is something to regret - not celebrate! The Jesus I grew up with would tell you to share your last crust of bread if there was another hungry, you home, your blanket, etc. How can all these conservative Christians think that denying someone medical care when they are sick is what "Jesus would do?" It goes against everything I have ever been taught about Jesus. These people keep praying that Jesus is shortly to return. They may not be in as holy a position as they think they are.

When Jesus returns and repeats their sins they will say, "YOU LIE."

You are providing carbon dioxide for plants, you have the same intrinsic value as any religious leader.

FTA: "You're a political conservative, jokingly calling yourself a "right-wing fundamentalist."

I'm very relieved and happy that a self described fundie is frustrated in the Obama Whitehouse. This is cause for celebration. As soon as he pulls a Palin..I pop the cork. :)

I wonder how much he gets for keeping a bible warm.

That depends on where he keeps it.

Does he also use it like Bill Maher uses his?

I wish he had a panel of 25 science advisers instead. and I expect many of these advisers decry every one of Obama's actions from their pulpits every Sunday.

At this point in the golf game... I'm afraid you need to understand that you're still "carrying the clubs".

Stay in there...

No... him. Surely, he can carry a bit of the burden until we get finished with Jesus' request to help the sick (proper health care) and the homeless (read:middle America now)...
