Kanye Omari West (born June 8, 1977 in Atlanta, GA) is a Grammy-winning producer, a platinum-selling rapper, and a dick.

Youth

Like many rappers, West grew up in an upper-class Chicago suburb where his mother was chair of the state university's English Department. His mother passed on a rich vocabulary that West later put to use when he said, "The way Kathie Lee needed Regis, that's the way y'all need Jesus."

"Through the Wire"

In 2002, West was involved in a near-fatal car crash that inspired him to appreciate the frailty of human life and led him to write the only rap song in history to contain a reference to the movie "Vanilla Sky." Despite heavy reliance on a Chaka Khan sample, "Through the Wire" became West's 2nd Top 20 single.

Style

Over the years, West has crafted a signature style built on clever wordplay and the incorporation of themes into his work that other rappers would deem childish, stupid, or "whack." These themes include "polo shirts" and "college."

Well for starters Kanye is a rapper by trade not a singer.

This dude knows he is one of the greatest producers of our generation.

This dude knows he is one of the greatest recording artists of our generation (4 hit ablums in a row and counting).

This dude knows he sells out amazing concerts...to the tune of 34 million for his last tour.

I mean you can send all the hate you want, but any attack on his credentials is pure fantasy. If you don't like Kanye fine, but nothing you say can deny the man's status as one of the greatest artist to come out in the past 10 yrs with the sales numbers and production credit to back it up.

And you know what, not one of the *accomplishments* you cited will get him into heaven. Not being a Christian, I'm probably going to get this quote wrong, but "What does it profit a man to gain the world, if he loses his soul?" All the bling-bling in the world is not going to give Kanye what really matters. Just sayin'.

It would seem that our President summed up the current state of Kanye's character quite well.

I'm sure Kanye's job isn't all tea and cake, but if those are the standards you're using to define a great artist, I think the Jonas Brothers and N'Sync can make a similar arguement. When a group or individual reaches a certain level of superstardom, they become reliant on agents, managers and label representatives to make it all come together. The Beatles have repeatedly acknowledged they wouldn't have made it without Brian Epstein. So yeah, the man should be more humble and appreciate what he has, instead of bemoaning what teenage white girls "take" from him, er, Beyonce. Kanye hasn't made anything good since The College Dropout, and Timbaland can out-produce him from the back of a bus. And furthermore, Kanye likes fishdicks.
