I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Wilson West

We all kind of knew Kanye West was a dick, but last night he proved it once and for all. As singer Taylor Swift beat out Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Beyonce to win the award for Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West stormed the stage, took her microphone, and said Beyonce had been robbed. "Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!" He screamed about her "Single Ladies" performance. The tiny teen stood shocked as MTV cut to commercial.

This reminds us of another outburst of late from the political arena in which Representative Joe Wilson yelled "you lie" at the president during a joint session of Congress. Thankfully a clever YouTuber has done a mash-up of the two dick-tastrophes for your amusement.

(PS -- Beyonce, of course, won Video of the Year, and had West waited til the end of the show to freak the hell out he might have seen that.)

The headline touts this video as a means to chastise two idiots who spoke out of turn, and disrespectfully toward another individual. In fact it uses the Presidential address to attack Kanye Wests' assertion that Beyonce should have won the award instead of Taylor Swift. Kanyes' assertion may have been right, his action was wrong. Wilson assertion and action was wrong. The producer of this video, shows his bias in both of these situations. The racial hipocysy of people in this country is exposed by the treatment of Bush vs Obama. Kanye vs Wilson. Williams vs McEnroe. etc. etc. etc.

I find it hard to believe that Joe Wilson is (1) college educated and (2) not taking reality-bending drugs like cretin Rush Limbaugh. South Carolina is a cesspool of low IQ racists; in private circles with cohorts of similar degenerate morals, Joe probably takes pleasure in using the “N” word referring to President Obama as “boy”? Perhaps Joe and Trent Lott could rideshare to the next meeting of the South Carolina Chapter of the Ku Klux Klan.

The only thing missing is Serena Williams. Then we have a full-fledged example of how badly we know treat each other. This country desperately need to regain civility, mutual respect and some restraint.

On a funny note, here is a hilarious health reform ad by Zach Braff and Don Faison. Very very funny.

You know, maybe West planned this as a political statement in light of Wilson's outburst. He knew that it was the kind of behavior that conservatives would object loudly to. As such it shows the hypocrisy of the conservatives who tried to act like it was ok for Wilson to yell out during a presidential speech. Yes, maybe West was trying to make a statement about how wrong Wilson is.

...nahh. Kanye is just a jerk.

Before we go down this road too far -- one was on a MTV stage for a hip-hop award ceremony -- in the long view of history this is not exactly earth shattering or even important. It doesn't excuse the man for being unbearably rude and robbing someone of their moment in the sun, but this is a musical award show not people trying to pass health care legislation to stop an estimated 18,000 U.S. deaths EACH YEAR blamed on lack of healthcare insurance. So I would say that is a whole lot more important than a made for TV award show. Both men were boorish and rude, but one was boorish and rude to the president and a major address to Congress.

What Joe Wilson did was disrespect the president of the United States and told a lie while doing it and he knew it. .We SHOULD expect a little the people running this country to act a little more dignified and adult than people selling hip-hop records. Neither gets a pass but get some perspective.

We don't need to go down this road at all - you're 100% right. And it doesn't matter if Wilson apologized. He thought the mob mentality of his fellow Republicans would cover him, but instead, he screamed alone.
Once again, the Dems choose to take the high road and let things go. But to show you how twisted things are, for all the monetary support Wilson's upcoming foe got, Wilson nearly matched him. So despite his despicable act, he's garnered even more support than he otherwise would have had he clapped for the president.
It speaks volumes for the hatred in this country.

If you condemn Kanye West then you MUST condemn Congressman Joe Wilson, who disrespected the President of the United States when he spoke to our Congress. If we condone any of these behaviors, then we are in peril of raising a generation of children who will show no respect for authority nor have etiquette and manners. Judging by the rude, disrespecting outbursts at the town hall meetings this summer and the cursing and outbursts of our sports figures, it may already be too late. For the sake of our nation and our children, we must publically and forcefully condemn these behaviors.
