Foreign Policy:

House defense spending cardinal John Murtha, an early bellwether of congressional opposition to the Iraq war, has made his strongest comments yet opposing more U.S. troops for the war in Afghanistan.

The Pennsylvania lawmaker and Vietnam veteran, who plays a crucial role in forming the budgets that would fund an increased troop presence, is skeptical of the basic logic of adding personnel.

Have you a stake in war biz scam, or it is a "labor of love"?

Earned big money on Iraq or Afghanistan, - or just was happy to observe how cronies of GOP got rich?

"The guard deploys as much as active. This way we do not need a draft"

So RMCT, using your vast military knowledge, explain this:

"The National Guard may be called up for active duty by state governors or territorial adjutant general to help respond to DOMESTIC emergencies and disasters, such as those caused by hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes. ...However unlike the United States Army and other armed forces, the National Guard (under state status) CANNOT LEAVE AMERICAN SOIL."

And it's spelled "defeatist."

He is right. Time to wrap it up.

Fat cats probably funneled enough our TAX money through Afghanistan and Iraq. They may have feeling that the country may not survive more robbery (our country). As for the rest of us, we also do not need to occupy that country. There are more efficient methods of foreign policy.

No outsiders win in Afghanistan. The country has a long history of withstanding outside intervention. The Soviet Union fell in large part because it wasted troops and treasure in Afghanistan, assets that should have been used within Russia's own borders.

Thank you John Murtha.

And no replacing the troops with privately hired forces either. America cannot afford it.

OUT OF IRAQ TOO

Bring our National Guard home first.

Yeah, right those Al Quiders were able to stand down our air defenses while working out off caves! They have special powers. We will pull out of there sooner or later whether we twenty or a hundred thousand dead, or if China quits loaning us money.
