When Patrick Swayze was given a task, not only did he deliver to the fullest but he had a blast in the process, recalls onetime costar Keanu Reeves about Swayze, who succumbed to cancer on Monday.

"There was some sky diving sequences in this film we did together and as filming was going on it came to be that Patrick was jumping out of airplanes all the time," Reeves recalled of their 1991 movie Point Break. "I think he had over 30 jumps during the course of filming and so the production served him with a cease and desist which he listened to until they got to Hawaii."

Patrick was on SNL a few times, I believe. Everyone remembers the hilarious Chippendale's skit but does anyone remember the time he and his wife performed a ballroom dance on stage?

It wasn't meant to be funny and I think he said something before or after along the lines of, "I just want everyone to know how talented my wife is."

What a darling person he must have been.

(And he's a Texan! We produce some good ones, too!)

Point Break is my favorite Swayze film. And my favorite Keanu film. And my favorite Lori Petty film. And my favorite Gary Busey film since Carny. I'm glad someone got comments from Keanu.

If not for Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves in Point Break would have been a bomb!

Best Keanu line in the movie (sic) "I don't care, you gotta go down. It's gotta be that way!"

RIP Patrick.

I watched "Dirty Dancing" again tonight and smiled more than I cried, which was a surprise to me. Maybe it's because I've had time to prepare for Patrick's death and I feel able to celebrate his life more than to mourn his passing. He will always be alive as far as I'm concerned. I am comforted because he left a wonderful legacy behind...
1. His love for his wife (Lisa) of 34 years. Also, a beloved brother, etc.
2. His love of the land (HUGE conservationist) as well as animals (horses, dogs, etc.)
3. One of the FEW (and I'm being generous here) reasons why Texas doesn't completely SUCK these days! Yes, I know there are good people there, but where are you lately? I mean no offense, really, because I understand how the wingnuts have taken over the public debate. I'm in Kansas, so I honestly DO know how it is!

We ARE here and have always been proud of the Swayzes. His mom was a very well-known dance teacher in Houston.

Remember, 3.5 million of us voted for Obama...we just don't get airtime.
(Go to youtube and look up Austin election night obama and you will see parties in the streets! People were delirious here!!)

Have always heard Austin is a great artistic hub in the south and it's a great, progressive city.

I've had an impossible crush on Keanu...not even my type.saw him with friends at a non-descript Indian restaraunt..just eating food, being norma..but just something about him enthralls me....I feel certain he had a bond with Patrick..and feels pain from this loss. 57...what a fighter....we all need some of that spirit....

I love Keanu, too. He seems unaffected and unimpressed by the fame. Being hot doesn't hurt, either.

Patrick Swayze was a gifted actor, and touched all of us through his work. There may not be as much hoopla as past celebrities, but Mr. Swayze exemplified the American story. He worked hard, started out without rank or privilege, and made his mark on the world. A spiritual person, I am sure he is with his Maker and at peace. God Bless you, Patrick Swayze!

I will miss Mr. Swayze. He was a decent man who was faithful to his wife for 34 years. Not an easy thing to do in Hollywood. RIP I will miss you.

My favorite Swayze film was "Next of Kin" with him and Liam Neeson. But let's face it Swayze was great in everything he did. He will be missed.

I really wish they could have made a sequel w/ Swayze getting away riding that big wave out of Austrilia and Reeves chasing after him. I'm 35 and know at least a couple of girls that have named their kids Brodi. After the Patric character.

His character's name in Point Break was Bodhi, not Brodi. As in bodhisattva. It was supposed to reflect that he was the "guru" of his crew.
