Huffington Post     First Posted: 11/15/09   Updated: 5/25/11

Via Uggly Doggy comes Play Doh ads from Singapore that want to remind parents that no matter what your kids do with Play Doh, it's always safe. Of course, they are a little twisted.

The fact that it's pink doesn't change the fact that your child is going to be a serial killer.

Crack open a little tub of Pay Doh and take a whiff. That Play Doh smell is so distictive it brings back a flood of fun kid memories. Go ahead and try it ,you know you wanna.

There are better alternatives out there! And these ones actually calm you down.
Try a gluten-free, 100% natural, aromatic alternative: http://MamaKs.etsy.com
You won't regret it!

See, this is exactly why I decided some decades back not to become a parent! The problem is that I love things like this.... and have always had a really hard time deciding what is "appropriate" for children....

The ads kind of creeped me out a bit the first time I looked through them, but the cleverness of it sort of grew on me. It'll probably turn off a few uptight parents. Regardless, it's still a pretty effective campaign. It's pretty unusual to see that kind of black humor in an ad campaign for children's toys, but the campaign is aimed at young parents who will largely appreciate the sentiments behind it, more or less.

I hope parents in Singapore have a rather twisted sense of humour, for Play-Doh's sake.

Who's the marketing genius who came up with THIS ad campaign.
03:50 AM on 09/16/2009
The same one who knew it was going into a "things to do" magazine directed at people in their 20's and 30's which includes young parents, who, if they're reading that type of magazine, get the humor.

Being in marketing means understanding your target audience.

I can only imagine that they are trying to sell to artists and not children...
