Looks like Reid is trying to change the subject, rather than address Baucus fiasco. Hope he loses the election in 2010. That would be a start.

A BREAK?? For what? It's amazing how little time these guys spend doing their jobs, while getting paid more than $150k per year. I'd love that kind of employment.

Oh come on Harry...the big kids know you won't follow through with this. Like Spector who would huff and puff and then vote for an incidious bill...that is exactly what you are doing. Congress doesn't need another break...they take too many as it is..and work hasn't gotten done for months and months. Forget your threats...make an announcement. "WE WILL NOT BREAK AGAIN IN OCTOBER.!"

October break...didn't you just get back from summer break like two weeks ago?! WTF????
01:54 AM on 09/16/2009
It's pathetic how much time they DO get off!

Actually do it then I will believe it cream puff. I am sure the Rethuglicans will tell him no and hurt his feelings. They will negotiate about how much time they need to kill health care and ruin the president and he will consider helping them along. Have to be bipartisan.

omg, Harry,
what's gotten into you
while you're at it
how 'bout health care, financial reform & foreign wars ??

This reminds me of when my teachers threatened to cancel a Dance because everyone always got drunk.

Oooo, no doubt Congress is quaking in its boots and canceling vacation plans. I can almost hear the Congressional guffaws and scoffs from here.

Harry, you couldn't follow through on a connect the dots to find the bunny puzzle much less a threat to actually play leader of the Senate. Please stop pretending to have a spine---it's embarrassing.

Instead of threatening to cancel another break, Sen. Reid, just go to "reconciliation" and get health care reform moving. The GOP is going to stall, stall, water down and then vote against any bill anyway. Many have already openly said so. Stop wasting time!
04:51 PM on 09/15/2009
That's what Reid is all about "threatening." Reid, why don't you actually do something and take a stand. Oh that's right that would take a backbone.

Don't threated DO IT.

You should have done it in AUGUST.

They don't need the breaks anyway. Perhaps something would get done if congress wasn't on holiday half the year. We claim we'd like a longer school year. How about a longer year for our elected officials?

They are already getting paid for this and they NEED to focus on legislation and not so much free break time. There are serious challenges that this country is facing while these people go forth MORE worried about fund raising activities and having fun off the house floor.

WTF....Didn't Congress just went on break in August? They just return and nothing has been done. Don't we(the taxpayers) pay their salaries. Talk about wasteful spending!

A break? A break from what!? They had all of August off and got nothing done. They've been back for 15 days and have gotten nothing done.

If they don't want to work for the people who elected them, why don't the just go home and let someone who wants to work take their jobs? Oh, right...then they'd be without health care.
