Who doesn't prefer them?

A prostate exam is the highlight of my annual physical.

George loves being George, more power to him.

I bet people had the same attitude about email 15+ years ago.

E-mail wasn't, by its very nature, a violation of privacy. But thanks to people who have no appreciation of or respect for privacy -- e.g. spammers, people who send out group E-mails and don't remove the bulk addresses, etc. -- E-mail isn't all that pleasant anymore either. (Although I did get a kick out of an offer I had last weekend from a person claiming to be Secretary of the United Nations.) I have a real social life -- I don't need a virtual one. If you enjoy that sort of thing, tweet away and "friend" people to your heart's content, but I'm with George.

The two are hardly comparable. Facebook thrives on peoples urge to take part in a futile cycle of voyeurism and exhibitionism. Yes there sure are good things in it for a lot of people, and to them I say: Knock yourselves out while having all of it recorded and stored for future reference by a company that "deeply loves and cares" about your privacy.

I guess it must be very nice to be famous enough not to need a Facebook page to help sell your work. Does Clooney realize how arrogant he sounds when he trashes a social network most of his fans--and former fans--use every day? Being a rich celebrity removes people from the messiness of real life, and that's too bad--for them.

When did digital communication between persons hardly known to one another, become real life?

Oh, MissMark, may I borrow some sugar?

He prefers prostate exams to:

1. Breathing
2. Normal heterosexual sex
3. Interviews
03:39 PM on 09/16/2009
And that surprises no one.

I'm with George on this one. Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and on and on. So very, very stupid and a waste of human energy.

When he meets a girl in a bar, and asks for her number, does she give him her digits?

Better a high-five than a fist-bump.

What does he need facebook for? He probably desires privacy more than anything else!
