The Plum Line:

Wow, this is cause for cautious optimism: Buried in a new Bloomberg poll is evidence that solid majorities dismiss all the leading right wing health care talking points as "scare tactics."

Not kidding! It's true. The poll tested a range of attacks and asked whether they were "legitimate" or a "disortion" and a "scare tactic." The results:

Obama and the Dems mishandling of the health care issue in the beginning and underestimating the backlash is starting to turn around and work in their favor. At this point, the right has no new rallying cry. No where to go on this issue. We've heard and seen the scare tactics and at some point it loses value. Even the media has moved on.

I'm glad to see that the majority of the people are starting to get pretty well informed. Knowledge is our best weapon against the reichwing traitors' lies.

If you take Fauxnews and CNN off the scenario, it would 85% because you still have to consider the 15% who are irreversibly crazy and ignorant (no cure).

I really wish I could have attended these events. The discarded coroplast signs would have made an awesome cage liner for my guinea pigs.

As history records this period in our country's story, progressives will be remembered for having fought hard for equal access to medical care for all americans, while the right will be remembered for . . . ? Fighting to protect special interests? Being duped by their leadership? Foisting suffering and death upon innocents? Deepening the divide between the "haves" and "have nots" in our country-- with medical care the new currency?

Going down in history with as regrettable a name as "tea-baggers" seems more than appropriate.

And then we all will be known as a plantation society.

You seem to be fixated on plantations. Personally, I fail to see what you're attempt at making a connection is about. My question is WTF???

These people are oblivious to the fact that the Republican senators and congressmen who support them are laughing at them behind closed doors. The Republican senators and congressmen laugh at how easily led they are to be pawns for the Republicans' corporate interests. The Republicans laugh at them all the way to the bank where they deposit money given them from Corporate health insurance companies.

You realize that that this is only going to make the teabaggers scream louder.

To them, chanting the lie makes it true. It's a form of voodoo, I think.

Now, if these numbers can be turned into votes in November, perhaps the unemployment rate among GOP politicians will skyrocket. That would truly be a good thing for our nation and our economy.

What happened to my comment? I think the anti-Christ poll in Jersey has some real interest. It was all over the news yesterday.

But if you read the internals, you will see that there is tremendous support for the things the public option would do. It's like saying "I hate beef, but love rib eye steak."

Just because the Dem's have the majority does not mean they all agree, you seem Dem's tend to be progressive, and part of being progressive is learning to think for yourself. Chant all you want about people walking in "lockstep to the messiah", nothing could be further from the truth. You confuse Dem's with the lemmings of the Repub party that followed The Shrub off the cliff for the past 8 years & nearly ruined our country.

Then its all set, all we need is our work orders, I would like agriculture. Good hard work is good for the soul, and it keeps your mind off things.
