The Republicans are stirring up fear of rationing.

The big insurance companies decide who to cover, who to drop, what they will pay for, who they will pay for....isn't that rationing?

The Dems better start talking about the history of special education! If it weren't for Democrats, children with disabilities would still be excluded from public education! Parents of special needs students beware of the GOP because they are the ones always trying to cut programs for special education. It was the GOP hero Reagan who shifted funding for special education to local school districts which meant a rise in local taxes.

"she said she and the families were worried that a government-run health insurance plan would give power to a government bureaucrat who would be able to decide whether or not "certain procedures or certain devices" would be covered for individuals."

But of course she could provide no reference in any of the proposed bills to substantiate this demagogic crapola.......

She also conveniently omitted the FACT that For-Profit Health Care Insurance corporations routinely do just that and base these often life threatening decisions on PROFIT considerations.

But the FOX minions lap up this tripe with nary critical thought.....

Normally I would agree, but sarah is on her way to hong kong. However, she got off the plane in san francisco and instead of transferring to a plane headed for hong kong, sarah wandered out of the airport terminal and was last seen in san francisco's china town holding her baby asking for directions to the CLSA conference.

The attacks on the Potus will be ongoing but aren't working as well as expected. Tea-baggery wasn't working too well either and the movement needed propping up. Killing granny was a nasty idea but fell by the wayside along with Palin made up government mandated death panels after it kept being pointed out that they were already working to capacity in the private insurance sector. And so it goes on. These people must be sociopathic, it's a tough job keep having to manufacture hateful bully points each a little more loathesome than the one before but, putting the fear of God into mothers of disabled children, (by politiicians who may themselves be parents), is low even by GOP standards.
We are seeing more clearly than ever before how these representatives, without a shred of any decency, can muster such interferences when out of any real power. Imagine what they would be doing right now were they controlling legislation!
They should not be permitted to continue holding elective offices if they refuse to behave like human beings, I appreciate this may be a physical impossibility for some but if the only way to teach them that the majority are fed up to the back teeth with all their lying BS is to remove their tax-payered salaries then so be it. They deserve to be resoundly reminded in the midterms exactly who they are supposed to be working for.

I disagree!

NOTHING is LOW by GOP standards....NOTHING!

The Rushpublicans have taken magical thinking to a cosmic level. As I said in another post, the judge in the frivolous Taitz birther hit summed it up best:

“Unlike in ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ simply saying something is so does not make it so,” Land says.

And that's true no matter how loudly they shout it...

They don't have to offer proof. They are repubs. They said it so it's true.

Didn't we already go through this with Sarah Palin months ago? Have they so completely run out of scare tactics that they have to go back through the cycle again? So, next I gather will be the "return of the death panels."

They know that their base suffers a woeful lack of intellect and education and may accidentally be eroded by a stray FACT here and there. This ceaseless barrage of out and out lies is merely "base maintenance"

well, let's see now. my current health insurance provider allows me XX dollars per year for whatever procedures, treatments and preventative check ups i might need. it has the power to say what procedures they cover and they tell me what facility i have to go to in order to have a procedure done. if i weren't getting insurance coverage through my job, i'd probably be rejected for any number of pre-existing conditions.

as far as i'm concerned our healthcare is already being rationed up the wazoo.

You still may be denied treatment if you have pre-existing conditions regardless if you are covered by your company's policy. A policy is not an agreement between the insurer and your employer, but rather with you. The company only affords you "buying" power. Much depends u,pon what you will require.

You are correct however that healthcare is being rationed. "Up the wazoo"...for sure.

Most so called professional journalists are intimidated by their corporate overlords to push the right wing agenda. They won't risk challenging the nonsense and lies of the GOP clown parade.

Today, I went to the dermatologist.
I'm known to have small cysts and tumors, so you could say I'm a returning customer.

But today, for the first time, I noticed a sign placed significantly off to my left.
Nothing I wouldn't have noticed had it been a speedier visit.

"Due to INSURANCE POLICIES, we can only do up to two procedures per visit. If more than two procedures are needed, please schedule another visit with our secretary. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Now, I don't know about you, but this is an inconvenience.
Firstly, look at the cost.
I'm not talking about monetary cost.
You could have malignant skin cancer in more than two places.
But they can only remove two places.

So, not only do you have to pay for those two, but you have to pay for another doctors visit.
Pray it's no more than four patches.

Another thing;
This isn't under a government system.
This is PRIVATE insurance.
The do take Medicare, but in some cases, they make you file your own paperwork.
They are not, on large scale, dealing with the government.

So what is the problem here?
Rationed care already exists.
It's the extent in which you view it.

If I go there, and it's worse than two procedures, I can't afford it.
What do I do?
