Vanessa Carmichael: Oh, Now You Care
Shame these outraged citizens weren't taking it to the streets during the Iraq War. We could have used their righteous indignation when Rumsfeld threw millions of Saddam's money at militants.

That's the problem with low taxes, you get low services.
If they weren't so busy complaining about their taxes, maybe our infrastructure wouldn't be so underfunded.
You know, you can't have your tax cuts and your public transit, too.
I liked this story & all the comments so much, I've spent all day reading all 31 pages (good thing I work from home). Thanks to all for today's entertainment.
I've lived in the South for over 30 years (including a total of 22 in Houston), so the mental gymnastics don't surprise me that much. What did surprise me was to see this story came from the WSJ. I'm cheered to see Rupert hasn't silenced all dissenting opinions yet.
I'm sorry, you have no constitutional right to ride the subway.
They're immune to irony.
The Metro keeps track of every single ride, in & out. I'd like to see a nice breakdown on just how many trains were running, and how many were at capacity or keeping people waiting. Alongside Inauguration Day and Independence Day, of course. Unlike the people from the Taxhaters' March, I'll admit it if I was wrong.
Tea Baggers using public transportation? Shouldn't they avoid riding on something that took millions in tax dollars to create? Why didn't they walk instead? Or is it all a sham?
So this means they support more government dollars for PUBLIC transit.
Excellent!
The service is already spotty and it is the most expensive subway system in the US. My round trip costs nearly $15 each day when you include the cost of the metro parking garage.
unfortunately, no; it means they they think Public is the name of the private corporation that owns busses and subways across the country, just like Medicare is the name of a very generous private company that gives seniors really low-cost health care.
Rich.
Hey ,last time I was at Harstfield in Atlanta I had to wait for 3 trams because my daughter was in a wheelchair and able bodied people were using the wheelchair space up front.
Should I have had MY Texas Rep contact the State of GA and complain???
Give me a freakin break...li
I thought that's what these Teabaggers were all about...go
Changed your mind (as if they had one)?
